IRS needs some Quality Control
I ordered the following by phone from the IRS.
1040A Forms and instructions
Schedule B Form and instructions
What I got.
1040 Schedule A forms and instructions
Schedule B 1040 & 1040A Form-no problem except
incomplete instructions.
My choices; Reorder, download 1040A forms which is OK
but I don't want to download the lengthy instructions or
I can drive to downtown OKC, try to find a parking and go
to the IRS office and pick the stuff up.
My point is, other than the IRS having some, I repeat some,
incompetent employees, why am I being forced to furnish
forms for something required by the government?

Remember, 'service' in their name is akin to the bull servicing your cow
Call them on the 'help' line;
Explain your order & their error;
Ask "so, are you guys smoking dope again or are you JUST PLAIN STUPID?"
I'll bet you get a supervisor!

They'll probably report for making "a terrorist threat".
Their real problem is they spend half their workdays on the gambling sites or looking at porn.

Buy Turbo Tax and e file or deal with trying to get the forms and destructions. Yes, it costs a few bucks but after doing paper forms for so many years it's way less painful.

Try running a small business if you want even more "help" on how you keep your records and what you have to report. And if you miss a change in the rules or interpretations and don't keep the records in the specified manner, the IRS auditors go through them and decide how much more you owe from not providing data in the right formats.
Even the current director of the IRS says he is frustrated with the ten shelf feet of tax law thoughtfully provided by Congress and the President, with more added each year.

Yes, I am sure you are right. My problem with the IRS is just an inconvenience. Businesses have real problems. The big corporations have
huge numbers of tax attorneys on their payrolls. The small business
owner can no way afford them..

You can always go by your local library and get the forms for free. I do that every year.

This......X10.
I elected to have direct deposit of the refunds this year.
SEVEN days after the returns were accepted by state and federal, the bucks were in the bank.

I have a bet, and I won't tell anyone which way I'm betting on this:
Do we have any IRS agents here on the forum?
Maybe I should do it as a poll.......

Mr. Persing, the only thing I can say is that it's a good thing you are closer to OKC than Tulsa. I've dealt, in person, with the IRS in Tulsa for several years. They are rude, unhelpful, and will not, for any reason, accept cash. The folks in OKC are polite, helpful, fill out forms for you, and, wonder of wonders, take cash. Oh, and I don't have to go through a TSA style security screening to get to the OKC office either, unlike Tulsa, where my wife was once required to nearly strip simply to enter the building.

Thanks, I didn't know that. Went to the library today and got the forms for free. The instructions required checking out because they had put them in a hard 3 ring notebook and reproduced the instructions single page where you don't have to turnover, just look at the next page. Good deal.

All the forms are available at the post offices around here and are online.

Hell, that's nothing. The Great State of Alabama sent me a letter the other day dunning me for the 224.00 that I owe them this year. Called it a "courtesy letter". I sent them one back letting them no in no uncertain terms that they would get their money, but not a minute before it was due, and that I didn't appreciate being treated like some sort of bum that doesn't pay his bills. I've had it with these people in Montgomery. Maybe if they would cut some of their useless pork budgets some by not sending out "courtesy letters" I wouldn't owe them 224.00 to pay the postage bill.

Forget quality control--they just need some initial quality. Have to have it before you can control it, right?
I think I have no more luck with them. I've beaten them out of more than $10k they tried to stick me with, twice.
