Default My FFl to your FFL??

I have some guns to sell, and I keep seeing this.Do rifles and shotguns need to be shipped to an FFL? Can I ship directly to an FFL, or do I have to ship from an FFL?

Yes an ffl must do the transfer if you sell to an out of state buyer. You can ship directly to an ffl (enclose a copy of your current drivers license) and you can use the post office to ship long guns. Cheaper that way. Be sure and verify that the ffl will accept guns for transfer from individuals. It is perfectly legal and I've never had one refuse but it is an ffl's prerogative to refuse to accept from an individual.

Not in my (admittedly limited) experience. I recently swapped a Uberti lever gun for a S&W 21 classic, with a guy in Texas. I priced it, online, before shipping. Priced UPS and FedEx out of curiosity, mostly, because I KNEW that the post office would be cheaper.

Turned out that, when I added the 700 dollars insurance, that FedEx was 5 bucks cheaper. That was quite surprising.

Here is an excerpt from the Hi Point Firearms 45ACP manual. Frankly, I was shocked that Hi Point would advise non FFL holders to use the USPS to ship handguns. Am I missing something here?

P.S. I don't own the aforementioned gun, I was just checking it out because it could be a game changer on many levels.
