Where do you shoot? This is my home range
I hardly ever post on the forum, but there's so much good information, I thought I'd share my home range. Had it for about 3 years now, although I've shot all my life. Great people here, and so much information.

I built the complete range myself, Texas Star, Plate Racks, Shooting Tree, and all targets. If you have any question's I'll be glad to help out much as I can.

Nice setup. Home ranges are the best.  Not counting times at the range in the service, I've only gone to a public range 3 or 4 times. I don't have anything fancy, but I do have a great setup for me. My brother and I bought the house in which we grew up, and since then bought up some surrounding land.
I have my "back deck range" which is actually just an old tree stump I'll pin targets to for some .22 action.
I also have my "end-of-the-driveway range" which is a 12' wide by 100' long range I kept clear in the woods behind my house after I had some logging done. That's for my larger caliber handguns.
Then there's my "serious range" which is about 400 yards long up in the woods / in a clearing. We cleared some trees near an old field to make a longer range. There I have a covered area from which I can shoot in case I feel like shooting in the rain. When I want some serious time with my handguns or feel like breaking out the rifles (which I don't do as often), I pack up the truck and head off through the woods to this range.
All of this is, of course, on my land and safely set up... in case anyone was concerned.  I'm shooting toward hills which are on my property and in a direction in which there are no homes for a few miles.

Many thanks for the kind reply's. Appreciated very much. I was quite a bit of work, worked on it on and off for 3 month's. Not much invested actually, all the metal was pretty much scrap. And let me tell you, it has been shot a bunch, exclusively handguns, but in all calibers. Up until not it is not showing any wear what so ever. The plates probably have upwards of 50,000 rounds on them.
I'd welcome safe shooter's that are close to me to come shoot. The invitation is open!
You can pretty much shoot from 7 yards, up to 100, and pretty much in between as is needed.

That is one NICE setup!. I guess you do not have much problems with trespassers. 
You shoot deer from the stand right in your back "yard"??

That is a cool range Scooter. You've got some nice steel going there.
I had to run upstairs and take a quick photo of my pistol range off the back deck before the rain hit. No time to prep but you get the idea. 25, 50 and 100 yards targets. I use clay for my backstops.
There's also a 150 yard rifle range farther back.
Can't get the picture to show except on the thumbnail, sorry.

I shoot here at my buddy's place, ten acres of HEAVILY woods, slight slope down into an old strip mining pond at the bottom. It's getting a new bench here soon compliments of me, I'm tired of the chair he has sinking into the ground...
Pistol target at 10 yards, then boards at 23, 50 and 100.

Nothing real fancy . . . backstop is natural lay of land plus debris from logging operation. I can go out to about 100 yards, but mainly set up for pistol and carbine (lever) out to 50 yards.
Very fancy bench setup . . . two saw horses, a couple of old boards, and a rolled up towel.
The girls like it, and it's great to have a place where we all can shoot with a little privacy. About 70 acres, 500 yards off a little-used state road, about 400 yards behind the house.

Man, I'm jealous! I moved to Surry county NC over 3 years ago and love it, but can't find a range I like. Guess I'll have to work harder and longer to buy some land.

What a sweet range! I've got some scrub ground that we use. Mainly use old political signs for targets and shoot into the banks.
