This .22 short pistol saved my life...
This reliable Beretta Jetfire .22 Short pistol is a personal favorite of mine and I am never without it. It saved my life a few years ago when attacked by a Grizzly while hiking in the mountains with a family member. I was able to escape, walking at a brisk pace,
... after I shot my brother-in-law in the knee.

I had one of them and sold it. Wish I still had it. It was surprisingly accurate. Something tells me your distant relatives are going to be more distant...................

I have one. Mine is one of the uncommon (in the United States) long bbl models. Though a U.S. made example, the guy who had mine said he sent it in to Beretta to have that modification made. Usually the longer bbl ones are seen on European guns, since it was a modification designed to allow a pocket gun to still be sold in European nations that had a min. bbl. length requirement.
$300 dollars got me it, three mags, and over a 1000rds of CCI ammo along with a holster that I lost somewhere.
Word of electron on the internet suggested that these were a popular item for trappers. An easy, and not very noisy, way to dispose of a still living critter.
Mine is certainly quite accurate and not very noisy. With the CCI ammo that came with it, it has also been utterly reliable. I like the little gun enough that I'd love to have one of its siblings in .25 ACP.

Awwww shucks. A story that good is too valuable to only use once.
Nice gun too.

My Dad had a 22 short Astra Cub that he used when he went fishing (he used it for snake protection) and for plinking. It is a copy of a Colt 25 except it has a 3 with barrel. Of course the pistol is not for personal protection against large targets, but it is pretty neat for it's intended purpose...fun and cheap to shoot.

So, You Wanna Play Beretta's......
Here's mine, a 948 in 22lr, modified to suit my tastes.
They wanted Bond to ditch his Beretta in favor of the PPK. I prefer to keep this one too.

Except that Bond had a 25acp Beretta Mod 418
I prefer 22lr and 32acp to 25s. Fleming also wrote that Bond carried the gun in a Berns Martin shoulder holster. Too bad Berns Martin only made holsters for revolvers.
Then again, Fleming was not too well versed about handguns.

This thread really messed with my head when I couldn't find my post.
Thank goodness I figured it out.
I thought I was losing it, faster than I thought I was.
Never be without a gun....
