LC Smith 12ga Sxs that belonged to my Grandfather
just to name a few, also the most special gun I own, or ever will, the Remington M514 ss that my Great Grandfather let me shoot in 1965, I was 4 perhaps 5 years old and we visited him in rural TN from Michigan. We shot snakes from a bridge that day and I still remember the feel of that gun and the smell of the burnt powder like it was this morning. It started me down a life time love of firearms.
I still have it in my safe, it must be worth a whopping $75, but I would sell every other gun in there before that one.
Thank you Willard Gunn for a very rewarding hobby.

My Browning Superposed Grade ll and Browning A-5 both made in Belgium in the late 1950's. They get used VERY often for Hunting, Sporting Clay, Trap & Skeet. LOVE 'EM!!!!

i'm very fond of these two takedowns. A 1950 Rem. Model 81 in .300 Savage and a Win.Model 92 .44 WCF choke full of custom features (round barrel, shotgun butt, pistol grips, tang and folding rear sights). Both shoot great.

Well,I used to collect Belgium Brownings,but then this revolver thing got a hold on me. When the prices peaked a few years ago,I sold off a bunch,but not all of 'em.

Find ones that match up. I got through putting together a "U.S. Rifle Model of 1917" last year. So this year my hunt has been for a S&W 1917 to match. So far only thing in my price range I have got is a Colt 1917. Still looking for the Smith.

Good reason Switzerland is not an attractive takeover target.

Nice idea for a thread.

Right now, for me, it's Winchester Model 12 shotguns and Marlin 39 rifles.

Of course that's subject to change.

Of course side by side shotguns will always be something I love, but the ones I really like are far out of my price range!

I saw thousands of them at Tulsa. Any old Winchester lever gun with a case hardened frame, Greener Shotguns, Garands, anything that says "Holland & Holland" or "Rigby" or "Westley Richards", and a good looking, all original, Remington 40X .22LR.

Certainly the Pre 64 Winchester model 70 and Sako's in general.

Of the ones I currently have...

Older Remington 700 in 6.5-06.

Colt Sauer, I have the .243 & .300Wby.

Belgian Browning made by FN, mine's a 30-06

1917 Edystone, mine has been sporterized by a pro.

There's others I'd like to get, some I have but don't measure up to the general consensus, but they make me smile when I look at them.

Any fine doublegun. There is something about them that is just timeless and classic among sporting long guns. There are many modern shooters who never learned to handle them, or prefer the latest automatic of the day, but a good double, or even something as pedestrian as a Stevens 311A from the 50s, carries a certain "something" about it. I prefer older L.C.Smiths and Foxes, but the Browning BSS and even the Ruger Gold Label are more recent SxSs that have that quality of ... quality.

Then there is something about an original Win 1892 that is in good shooting condition. Even more so, it's big brother the 1886. The Browning or Win repros are pretty fine too.

And don't forget the fine single shots like the Win Hi Wall, or even the more recent Browning 78 or 1885.

Then there are the classic, simple bolt action 22s from the 50s and earlier... say a good Rem Model 510 Targetmaster or a Win 69A, real walnut and blued steel, ... or a solid Marlin 39 lever action, adult proportioned and with a feel that just says 'big game' in a 22 rimfire and you know they are going to shoot well.

Yep, lots of good stuff out there.

A straight stock English double is a wonderful thing indeed. (especially in 16 gauge)
