Make sure you have enough left for at least a grocery store flower bouquet for the Mrs!

I have a 57 6 inch a 4 inch would be very nice.
I was going to list all of my hand guns when I had second thoughts . It may not be wise to advertise what`s in the safe for all of the world to know-especially in that foreign country, Wash DC.

I just googled the 610 and it`s very nice, but I`m not too sure about introducing a new caliber into my armory.
I currently have .22, .32, 9mm,.38, .357, .41M, .44M, .45

If you do not already have one, take a look at some .45 acp revolvers. I saw you stated you already have that caliber so you would not be adding another caliber. I went with a .45 acp, since I already have several .45 handguns. Mine is a M625-6 V Comp, but I looked at M325NG, M325PD, all different models of 625, M25's...well you get the picture. Good luck finding what you want.

Next on my list is an M&P 340 no lock. With crimson trace grips I think...
See this thread for pics and details:

Hate to tell ya, but if you used that thing in business or wrote it off in any way, you have to report the sale to the IRS as a recapture and pay taxes on the previously deducted amount.
Now hows THAT for peeing in your punchbowl

You could probably get 2 or 3 K frames with that money and have more to play with.

two or three of something would be nice.
I always wanted a N frame .41 mag or .45 acp, but I know that will never happen. But I don`t know why Smith wouldn`t make them.
Taurus made a .41 mag in a gun about that size.I had one but I made the seller buy it back from me, cause It was a lemon.
Another .22 is another option maybe a 617 in 4 inch.
I`m going to pretend I didn`t read the Cajun Lawyer`s post.
Maybe I`ll buy the flowers first.
There is a gun show here in about 2 mos. Maybe I`ll get lucky there, although Most everything is priced way too high lately.
Some of my best treasures come from the parking lot outside the show, so I`ll prowl around there & see what turns up.
Keep the suggestions coming You guys are doing good, giving me lots of ideas.

why not another .22? Ammo is cheap and you can shoot a lot of .22 ammo during a range session and it won't cost an arm and a leg.

I recently purchased a 25-3 125th anniversary edition. What a great shooter and a good looking gun too. With these you have too look around a little to find one that has been shot, most are unfired. I saved about $200 off the unfired price.

If it were me, I`d look for a 25, 57, or 58. But that`s just because those are missing from my N Frame family.
Someone already suggested the 610. Don`t be afraid to add another caliber. The 10mm is an outstanding round. And you can use .40S&W for light plinking rounds in it.
I bought this 610-1 new in 1998 and love it.

Jack, here's the way to look at it: The utility trailer was just junk and not worth anything so selling it for $950.00 is strictly windfall money. You were already going to buy a new S&W anyway, even if you didn't win the utility trailer lottery. So take the $1000 you were going to spend on a new S&W and add it to your $950.00 utility trailer lottery money and you have $1950.00. Round up to a nice even figure, say to $2500.00. Now you have enough for a Reg mag. (well maybe not quite enough so reach into your vacation fund for another $1000.) So now you have $3500.00 free money for that Reg Mag!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just love helping people with their money problems. I just have a gift I guess...

I'm lusting for the new Ruger 10/22 takedown rifle. Going to take about $350 to quench the flame.

My personal all-time favorite "working" S&W is my 625-6 .45 Colt. Next would be an early 29, a 25-5 4", model 41 .22lr, and a earlier model 17 .22lr. Good luck in your choice and definitely take the missus out for a nice dinner.

Don't know how you're fixed for .357's, but I'd be looking for a pre-27 3 1/2"....

So many good suggestions , so many choices.....
I like .22`s a lot and .357`s too and .41M.
My Mrs. is deadly with a 1911. She likes S&W- Revolvers only- and owns two of them.
She just hits better with the Colt- she usually makes only one ragged hole in the target and she never complains about the recoil.

Well, since I didn't remember anyone else saying it, how about a nice 29-2 with a 6 1/2" barrel.

I meant to say L frame not N
Cowart , You must think I`m too stupid for words and I don`t blame you. I have several N`s and I know better. I was thinking L frame like a 686 or so. That would be a nice .41 mag or .45 acp.

Buy a Taurus! Then you can use the rest of the money fixing it! Call it stimulating the economy.

I had one in .41 Mag. It was very nice size little package but , The first time shooting it it failed to get thru one single cylinder and kept jumping time. I got the seller buy it back!
That was my first and last Taurus!!!
Why can`t/wont S&W build something similar to that size?

To Stonecove,
I showed my Sweetie your post.
Her answer was short, expected, and to the point!!!
I guess I`ll just have to stretch that $950.
Actually I`m not a collector so I`ve never had a hankering for a registered Mag.

Jack, you can tell her the logic works on anything. Not to get you into trouble, you could take your windfall $950.00 and put it to a vacation. You could do a nice vacation for $3500.00. Just saying...

I agree, and I would recommend a 627-0. I have a 5 1/2 inch round butt model of 1989 with un-fluted cylinder and a full lug. Handsome gun with great balance and handy size. A "no hole" 610 would also be nice, but you wiil probabl have to sweeten that 950 up a little on either one! Enjoy.

I took Davwingman`s advise and got a beautiful pre-war K-22 Outdoorsman which I am totally pleased with.
I love shooting it and I also just like to look at it and marvel at the exquisite craftsmanship that went into it`s creation.
I also picked up a Python 4 inch blue which is a bit battered, but still very serviceable and presentable enough. I can take it out to the woods in any weather and not have to worry about messing it up, yet it still "Aint such a dog I`m ashamed to be seen with"
Thanks for all the good and funny advise.

Nice variety. I've been curious about the .357 sig. Or how about a .45 Casull?? A 10mm like the 1006 model would be nice.
-------
My mistake. The .357 sig doesn't use the same caliber bullet as the .357. It's 9mm.

She sounds great. My wife bought me a pistol last month with a bonus she got at work. We are darned lucky guys! I have no recommendations -- you have so many choices.
However ... buy her some flowers the day you bring home the new gun.

Don't give up on .41 mags. I have bought 2 this year. Bought a very nice one from Bama Biker at the Jan. show and at the AGCA show last weekend a guy came by with an old ratty holster and I asked him what he was selling. He had a .38 regulation police from the '30s and I bought it. He then asked if I would be interested in another Smith? Sure. He then pulled out a 99% mod 57. Yes, got it too. Also found a 1917 shooter for $350. Great show!!!!
