Default My little Avenging Angels

These Avenging Angels were done for me by a member of this and the Colt Forum. The .44 started life as Uberti 1860 Army. The .36 was a Pietta 1851 Navy. Been wanting these for many a year and I'm a real happy camper to have them now.

Congrats! Looks like very nice work.

(Battery powered, too! Those Colt guys are smart!)

Do you intend to shoot 'em in cowboy action or some such?

Muddyboot,
Hope you are not too attached to your eyebrows and hair. Fireball should burn off all your hair and blind anyone around. Are you planning to reduce the powder load and just use fillers to bring out the balls to the proper seating depth?
Get someone to take a picture of you firing them and give a post.
Larry

Somewhere I read of those setups without even haveing a barrel! They shot em straight out of the clyinder! I belive they had the single action army frames though.
I see the guns are guns of the future as the photo dates are a month from now when taken.

Nope
I'm not a cowboy action shooter, but I do plan on shooting the heck out
of them. I'm nut's about this kind of odd ball revolver. Somthing about
them just sez shoot me.

I 've seen the same set up without the barrel, don't tempt me. The camera dates are set up like in Europe, month first. then day, then year.I'm to dumb and or lazy to change it.

All the more reason to load a little extra powder, big fire balls = fun.
And yes, I will use fillers.

Cool guns.

I made a "Avenger" from a ASM 1860
Very fun to shoot and surprisingly still exelently accurate.

IMPRESSIVE!
With the money you will save on not needing haircuts or shaves, you can buy another weapon.

Really nice. And I'm glad you are a traditionalist enough NOT to round the butts. Now all you have to do ,MB is never cut your hair or shave just like Porter Rockwell, the original Avenging Angel.

Porter was a wild won. If anyone want's to read about someone who
led a very interesting life, I would suggest finding a book about Porter Rockwell. As for the round butts, my revolvers have had some rounding done, but just enough to take the sharp edges off the grips.

Here are a few before pics of the 1851 Navy and 1860 Army before
and after the work was done.

The 1851 Navy before

After.

The 1860 Army Before.

After

Muddyboot,

I'm so glad you are satisfied with the work. These were a lot of fun to do and I learned quite a lot in the process. I must say it was a pretty strange feeling taking a hacksaw to a brand new unfired Cimmaron 1860!
If you post a youtube video of them being fired please send me the link.

Plenty of new Cimmaron 1860 Army's around so it did'nt bother me to have it cut. Not much for posting on youtube, but I may take some digital pics when I get a chance to shoot them. Any luck on finding an old beat up Walker yet?

Great looking guns. Isn't one of the Forum members into
shooting pics of night=time muzzle flash. Those should light up
the night sky pretty good. TACC1

Haven't found one yet. I would also go for a Dragoon. That would make a nice snubbie as well.
