So who is the better neighbor?
The drug addict that is now in prison for actually shooting her boyfriend's leg off and all the drama that followed, but never raised the mildest commotion before that....
or
The upstanding older couple that moved into the now vacated house that has a really loud 2 stroke Lawnboy that drones right through my walls!!!!!
I honestly am not sure.......

At least the lawn-mowing neighbor won't break into your house for something to pawn for their next hit of crack!

Yeah really, the Copper in your AC unit is safe with the old folks.
Hard to get a HoverRound with a winch.

Or, be thankful for good neighbors and buy some insulation.

Hearing protectors are cheap. A sawmill would have been preferable to some of the neighbors I've had. Most of the bad ones are in prison or dead, but some of them will eventually get out. The twice convicted child molester across the road gets out in August after a three year sentence for parole violation. That's about 15 years of his life behind bars.

The guy across the street has a habit of cutting his grass and 06:00 on a Sunday, then the string trimmer then the edger. In the winter he is out even earlier with his snow blower PLOWING THE STREET. But I will take ol' crazy Gordon over the gang bangers two blocks either way from us. Our block and north is ok but south east and west is getting real seedy. The old people wont smash out your truck windows to steal things or break into your locked garage.

Being her neighbor means being in the next cell. Definitely the other one; orange is just not my color.

I like noisy neighbors. They keep me from drawing attention, because I have dragbikes, that I may occasionally have to test on the street, but slowly.

Cut your grass when they cut theirs -
OR
Go somewhere when they cut their grass.
OR
Move next to some crack heads - At least they don't cut the grass.

I'd have to say the lawn mower neighbors would be my choice. At least they wont get all strung out and try to kill each other.

I'll swap houses with ya'! The people on our left are such slobs the worst shack in Haiti is the Taj Mahal in comparison. The three guys on our right all live in the same body of my schitzophenic neighbor. Really, he's been put away many times involuntarilly. When he's off his meds all three are exposed. His regular self, an insecure little kid, and the streetwise ex-con. I've seen the last two in transition while talking to him once years ago. He recently told the cops he threw eggs at my house because I was crawling in his windows. I made him clean it up while the cops watched. The police know him well. They were cracking up on my porch last time to inform me that the nut called and said my wife killed me by castration. The police make the mistake of talking to him like a child. He's highly inteligent but is underestimated because of the mental illness. He attacked me twice over the years and I had to dot his eye both times, in self defense of course. At least one of his personalities keeps his yard up.

Neighbors?
Doper couple had a shoot out, Goober couple move in and run a two stroke motor all day long?
The two stroke isn't being fed Automatic Transmission Fluid is it? And the smoky exhaust being run thru another neighbor's fence so as to run them off next?

Neighbors? I ain't got no steenken neighbors! Only one worth talkin' about is 2 down, and he's great. Next to me has been vacant for the last 7 years and counting - after Roy went to the big house for "doing" his 14 YO step daughter. He's gone, and that's good. So the house is vacant and that's good. Of course the place has a new owner, but they don't do much like cut the lawn. No one can move in because of the long list of building code violations, and the need for a full building inspection. And I will become their neighbor from h*ll.
No one across the road, just vacancies and the Ohio River.
On the other side is a road and a hill. I might have a neighbor living in the wrecked Caddy that parks over there. I have no idea who it is, and a nosy dog walker asked me last night who the guy is and it looks like he lives in his car. Behind that is a minor landslide. It gets my vote for best.
