Default Caje's "New gun thread"

Well, this afternoon I took the most important person in my life out for the afternoon for a bit of shopping. (trranslation-"I went to the gunshow")
Took a 64 DAO with me to sell/trade and was looking for a Shield. Walked the aisle and someone offered me my asking price ($300) for a gun that I had $225 in. Guy had a pretty good shape(he sais new but it has been shot) 649 with box and tools on the old J frame for $399. I was sorely tempted, I mean SORELY tempted but I just couldn't justify a steel J frame when I already had an SP101. Decided to let God tell me whether or not to buy it (I offered the guy $399 OTD and he wouldn't eat the 8.5% sales tax). Having heard God's answer-I declared the rest of the afternoon "Boat Day" and headed to Academy.
Long story short, I came home with a new rod/reel, tackle box, pelican case, two gallons 2 stroke oil, cricket cage, a bunch of fresh water tackle, a new swivel seat top for my 5 gal bucket and two new boat seats and $40 dollars more than I left with.
Leys see....$40 plus the $40 my wife threw at me yesterday plus the $40 gift card- plus the $75 dollar profit I made on the 64-heck-I'm almost halfway to a new S&W Shield!

Academy is a dangerous place.
We may be getting one in my town. I might have to get a part time job there...

Sounds like you'll have the shield in no time! My buddy picked up the shield yesterday at gander mountain. I'm more of a wheel gun guy myself but I gotta admit that shield is a nice unit. Let us know how it shoots when you get it!

You sure are getting a lot of mileage out of that $40. Is that "Cajenomics?"

I'm not so sure "being" rburg is much better, in that case.

Ya know, one of these days I'm a headin' south on a road trip. I gotta meet all these good ole boy's we've been postin' with. Seems like Charlie and David and Lee are the only one's who come Nawth as far as Louisville. Sometimes I wonder about Lee, he's up and vanished. Shore are a bunch of good ole boys I'm needn' to share an adult beverage or two with. Guess Momma wouldn't let me go by myself, besides, if I left her I'd have to kiss her goodbye.
