It was happening before. I spoke to a friend yesterday who was Secret Service and he said it happens all of the time. Nothing would have been known if there wasn't a stink over the price of services.
He said that he's seen agents escort the escorts.

All at once we are getting awfully proper. I am not defending those idiots, but sometimes it does seem the news media just has not given us enough time to catch up with their very high standards - for everyone except themselves and their Hollywood friends.
Boys will be boys, and it used to be up to their wives (and their bosses) to keep them under control - or ditch them, as need be. Sounds like they needed some ditching. If that stuff is going on "all of the time," it shouldn't be. Kind of low-class characters, in my book.

Kinda makes you wonder why they call it the "Secret" Service.

Frankly, I'm shocked! Servicemen consorting with women! There should be an investigation! Heads should roll!
Ever been to Subic Bay?

Apparently, insider reports indicate the "wheels up" parties have been going on for years on trips where the President has been overseas, and then has cleared the area. I doubt seriously this would have ever caught anyone's attention had someone not paid his $46 tab.
This is akin to Tiger Wood's and all of his "other women". Those who travel the professional golf circuit and report on these things had to have known for years he was running around. Some of the women even travelled with him on his plane. It was just no one wanted to be "that guy" to say something and take a chance on becoming an outsider. Same thing here. I'm sure some folks who cover the WH and the Prez when he travels had seen or heard some of the rumors of this stuff. It does not happen in a vacuum, even if it is the "secret" service.

This is just another main stream media ploy to deflect the public's attention away from issues that really matter, like 'what are the Kardashian's up to now?'.

All I can say at this point is I'm disappointed. I was always under the impression the Secret Service was the cream of the crop, the best men and women the United States had to offer. If it was a group of squids or jarheads then I could accept it. I am going to reserve any further judgement until all the facts come out, and not base my conclusion on what some politically oriented talking head on TV says. I won't throw the whole dept under the bus because a few bad apples slipped through the cracks. Just going to have to wait and see how it plays out.

The problem is not the acts per se; it is the complete lack of awareness of how this could impact the pre-trip security for the President. Colombia is full of hostiles - drug gangs, revolutionaries, etc. Associating with unscreened locals for any reason is stupid beyond measure, and justifies the harshest discipline.

Heck, even when I was a sailor there were guys being dogs. But all the guys/dogs I was around knew to get the job done first, complete the mission, and then it was booze, babes, and fun time until the ship pulled out again. It was pretty easy to understand that anything other than doing things in that order would mean no part three of that list was going to be in your future. These evens make me curious not just of the men in question but the leadership of them that was supposed to be keeping tabs on them. It makes me think of "who watches the watchmen"... Someone was always there to keep us goofball squids in check, so who does this for the Secret Service???

Perhaps this was part of the screening process of locals.

Peggy Noonan references Rufus Youngblood in an opinion piece in yesterday's WSJ, titled America's Crisis of Character. He was a great Georgian and a true American Hero. He must be spinning in his grave.
Noonan's piece deals with the negative stuff we have seen in the last weeks, including the various scandals and outrages, such as the actions of the TSA agent "feeling up" the woman in the airport, the SS agents' dalliances, and the GSA foolishness at taxpayers' expense.

I'd like to change that to Bozos, Booze, and Bimbo's. How dumb can you get for $46.00.

And to post comments about a VP nominee on a site such as Facebook is downright "bozoish", is that a word?

I always thought of the Sercret Service as a "Man's thing". (No offense to the women.) But, I have to rethink it now. Never heard of a real man having to pay for sex.

Well, in these times it appears there's going to have to be a new title in the Secret Service, Designated Agent. Whoever is given this title will have the duty to stay sober and lucid while looking out for his fellow agents. He will have to clean up after the "party" and make sure all the trash is thrown out before dawn, including any leftover "escorts."
Frankly, the only agent that should be canned without any benefits is the one who decided to argue and make a scene. That is not very secret and did not one a service. He was guilty of felony stupid!
The one that's got be going is the photo of the guys holding up the suicide bomber's body parts while smiling/laughing. The foundation of almost all humor is irony. So, let’s see, a fellow is coming to blow you up and because he and his buddies are screw-ups, he prematurely blows himself up. I mean if that isn’t irony, I don't know what is. But then again, posing and taking a photo in this digital age . . . well, they're guilty of misdemeanor stupid.
