Shave & a Hair cut and a nose and ear job
Those of us with nose and ear hair.... I have a great solution... when I travel through a certain middle eastern country I stop to get my hair cut. I was there last week. I can get a Haircut, full shave, and nose and ear hair removal for $10. Now the best part.. because you can do this at home. The barber talkes melted wax (like ladies use for legs) gets it cool enough to roll into a small cylinder and stuffs it in your ear and nostril. He waits about 30 seconds and then "pops" it out like when you pull a band aid off. Really quick and hard. It does (almost) bring a tear to the eye but the hair is gone!! Stuck to the wax! It really works great. Why didn't we think of that here in he USA. Great technique. Every time I have to travel to that part of the world I stop for a haircut, shave and ear and nose job.

If I groomed to neatly, my wife would start taking me out with her at night and I'd miss my favorite TV.

A match or lighter works great on nose hair. I would advise against using it on your ears because that would just be weird.

No he doesn't reuse it. But he does show you the used wax with the hair embedded as though you didn't feel it being ripped from your skin
Then he tosses it in the trash and ... and...goes in for seconds if he feels he didn't get it all
It's not an experience for the faint at heart. Many of my American friends over there aren't up for it

My haircuts are 8 bucks, he does my nose & ear hair also. But I shave myself. I don't trust anybody at my throat with a straight razor.

You guys get off easy. I have to shave my nose! Had my beak cut off (cancer), a new one built with rib grissel etc. Then they litteraly scalped me on top the head and used my scalp for over the nose framework. So the hair from top my head is now on my nose. I been wanting to let it grow so I can scare kids but theresa wont go for that.
I haff pictures!

I haven't seen an $8 haircut in 10 years. And I live in the mid west... not Boston or NYC where I am sure they are 1.5 to 2X what they are here. A simple, low priced cut here is $16 and I can't even find a barber who still does shaves.
That's a service that seems to have gone away and I'm not sure why.
I used to watch the barber when I was a kid do hair cuts and shaves. I couldn't wait until I was old enough to at least get the shaving cream and razor around the ears and neck. By the time I was ... most barber shaving was fading out.

My barber charges $7.00 for seniors and trims eyebrows and ears and still uses shaving cream and a straight razor to trim sideburns and back around the head. Not many of these guys left.

The last time a barber trimed my sideburns and hair line with a straightedge, he nicked me and blood flowed.
I was nervous for a long while about catching something because I got the haircut at a barbershop in Hollywood I had been going to for years..

Taking manscaping to a whole new level!
I've been plucking nose hairs for a few years now. I think all the nerves have been pulled out with the hairs, as it doesn't even hurt anymore.

I just take a small scissors and trim mine back so it doesn't show.
I'm not scared of pain, but I don't wanna hurt when it ain't necessary.

My wife cuts my hair...but I've been trimming my own ear and nose hairs. I may try this wax removal thing on my ears the next time I am digging my ear wax out with a Q-tip. I've just been throwing that stuff away...I didn't know there was a use for it.
I too have to shave my nose...there is one lone hair that grows on it. I've tried plucking it, but it comes back...and it is right on top of my nose, toward the tip. So, now when it grows out far enough that I can see it, I just run my razor over it and I'm good to go.
I still have a very full head of hair, not really any thinner or less than it has ever been, just a lot of gray in it now. My beard and chest hair have gone completely white, though.

I guess after just having your nose and ear hairs ripped out "a happy ending" is out of the question.

I go to the beauty shop where my wife goes to get my hair cut. Why? Because, I'm a man. And I figure women know more about what a man should look like. Last year without telling me, my wife asked that my eyebrows be done... specifically the "wild hairs" and my "mono-brow." I didn't see anything wrong with either the wild hairs or my mono-brow. But, there was the wedding of my youngest daughter approaching and she along with my wife had decided something had to be done. Well... there I was minding my own business getting my haircut when I was told... "Hold still now preacher. This is something different we are going to do." The wax went on my eyebrow... and a moment later it came off, with the offending hair. It was... well... different. She didn't use the wax on my ears. Maybe next time. I'm gong to have to keep an eye on my wife and daughters. Now that they've decided to start taking a hand with my "grooming," they might presume to give attention to the clothes I wear, etc. Why... just today I looked for my favorite chambray shirt... the one with the nice little holes in the collar from my beard... and it is gone! Oh my!

Gatorfarmer posted a couple years ago that he used a Leatherman on his nose hairs. I am thinking that with three kids (or was it four now?) that he probably no longer has the time for the leisure of a multitool and has moved up to lighter fluid and a zippo..
