Update on Emory Crofoot.
Got this email from Emory...let's all pray that things go well for him. For those of you who don't know him, we had an auction to help send his family on a vacation last year a this time.
"I’m going to have surgery on Monday May 14th, at approximately 12:30.
Yesterday I had a colonoscopy that revealed the source of my internal bleeding to be the cancerous tumor in my colon.
The surgery of course has risk, but they have to stop the bleeding. And if all goes well it will improve my entire health a great deal. Risk versus reward.
Of course I have little choice due to the internal bleeding making the decision for me.
If all goes well it will not affect our Hawaii plans. (June 17th-July 2nd)
I spent all Tuesday night in the hospital getting blood transfusions.
Then yesterday the colonoscopy.
Emory
I feel like a weight has been lifted. Cut that damn thing out of me!"

The prayer list gets longer but that's OK, He hears them all.

Sip, thanks for the update on Emory. I had seen some recent posts by him that struck me as forward looking, so I hoped his circumstances and prognosis were not quite as dire as they seemed some time ago
Emory, keep the faith. People you have never met are pulling for you. Sounds like a surgical solution may in fact have the potential for that good outcome that seemed elusive a few months back.

I'm gonna offer up my 2000th post to add my thoughts and prayers for Emory, for a successful surgery, quick and complete healing and another memorable trip to Hawaii with his family.
Blessings,
Hog

Emory is strong, tough, and motivated.
That'll get you through a lot.
Godspeed, Crofoot.

Thanks for the good thoughts and prayers. It’s really amazing from anyone, and particularly touching from people I’ve never really meant.
I’m lucky I have many good friends close to home here too. My LEO buddies have really been my best supporters, though we have many good friends. More than I could have imagined. My wife does too.
To set the record strait I do try very hard to think positively and forward.
However the truth of the matter is this is not a desirable surgery, and is forced by the internal bleeding. I won’t hold you hostage to all the details, but I for instance spent all night in the hospital Tuesday getting three bags of blood transfused. All the while drinking a vile liquid to clear me out for Wednesday’s colonoscopy. And we, good news, sold our house. We haven’t yet moved though. My wife is a rock. Packing and moving with a husband receiving Chemo every week was hard enough. But now I’m often times anemic and have gotten sicker with the internal bleeding. Great the house sold, but poor timing me getting this surgery.
I’m extremely confident in my surgeon. If my body gives him the chance to cut out the tumor I’m sure he has the skill.
Even if they get the tumor out of my colon, I still have “stage 4 cancer” with tumors in my liver and lungs. This surgery just buys me more time for chemo, which buys me more time.
The Dream Foundation is an organization that helps adults with fatal illnesses fulfill their dreams. They contacted my Oncologist. I never new of them. I fit their profile to help. I probably have less then a year to live and make less than 100K. We loved Maui last time, and jumped at the chance to go back. If this surgery goes well we will still be able to do the upcoming Maui trip.
I hope my girls enjoy my guns and have put together a 3 ring binder for each daughter, with photos of my guns, and descriptions of how I came to acquire them, or how they are special to me. And for no good reason bought another K22 this week. A 1952 Pre 17. I sold other stuff to get it, but I’m certainly well enough to recognize a good deal on a K22!
That’s already a big wall of text for you to climb, and will leave it at that for now.
Thank-You Friends,
Emory

The fact that Emory is still gun shopping is a sign of how tough an hombre he is, and how positive his outlook is. Get well soon, Crofoot ... we want a range report on that recently acquired K-22.

Keep the faith, Emory, bigger miracles have happened!
It seems like everyone I know has dealt with cancer somehow this past year. Two members of my family beat it, my wife and son in law. My prayers are with you.
