Yes, TV was simpler back then, but there is some amazing TV on today...especially on cable. The writing on some of then new shows is head and shoulders above much of the older stuff. Check out Mad Men, Game of Thrones, Rescue Me, Louie, Sons of Anarchy to name a few...

thanks for sharing this …………back in the days when entertainment was real.
now we settle for hillbilly handfishin, lizard lick towing and swamp people and a "perfect" commercial every 30 seconds.

Caj, how about the famous Amos and Andy episode where Amos gets sued -- his reaction was priceless:
"I denies the allegations and I denies the allegator!
I have always wanted to file that quote as an answer to a petition.

Now doubt Carson was king, no one today comes close. My favorite clip has an obviously intoxicated George Gobel and Carson almost in tears laughing so hard. Also watch an equally intoxicated Dean Martin and his cigarette ashes. I have never seen Bob Hope with nothing to say.

Thanks, Caj, Carson was the best late night host. I watched one of the old George Gobel bits too, doesn't get much funnier than that!

Sip, I agree with you on those. I would also include The Walking Dead among them. BTW, any involvment in those shows on your part wouldn't just by chance happen to influence your listing of them, would it?
