None of us knows it all but as a group I think we know just about every thing. So I have some cloth shot reloading bags that I want to make into arm rest for shooting rifle. All the places that do sewing, shoe repair, and upholstery want to keep them several days and charge to much. I need a glue that will bond cloth and not come apart. Do they make such a thing? Don

Stitching it up is the best. You can do a great job with one of the hand awl-type stitchers if you can't sweet taslk someone with a sewing machine into the job.

The best glue for fabric is 3M contact glue. Comes in a can and is applied with a brush. Next best is a hot glue gun. But neither of these will be as strong as what a needle and thread can do and is the reason upholstery and clothing are still sewn instead of glued together.

They sure do make glue for cloth, that's how I've been keeping my derriere covered for years. Works wonders for patches on work clothes. You will find it at most all man camps for logging, construction, etc.

Google "liquid stitch", looks like wally world even carries the stuff.

3M also makes a spray on contact glue for car headliners and automobile upholstery that you can buy at some craft/fabric shops like Michel's. Spray coat the fabric and the item you want to attach the fabric to - allow for the glue set-up time and attach each to the other. Done deal, no stitches required.

Hand stitching is not that hard to do. I've done a good bit of it fixing up my ragged old hunting clothes and upland vests.

Seems to be a pretty good resource.

Contact Cement. Is it a nylon or actual cloth like cotton? Either or Contact cement will bond it permanently. A few stitches thrown in will help also. You only get one chance at it. Once it touches each side it's stuck!

I made some sand bags using shot bags, sealed the end with Shoe Goop. Clamped in the vise, it sealed them Permanently!! NO leakage and they are going strong after10yrs of use..

I have used "Liquid Stitch" and I have sewn them with kite string. Either seems to be working real well. It has been 20 years since some were done.
