Fire Rated Gun Safes
I'm thinking about investing in a fire resistant gun safe. I've looked at the Heritage line of rated safes and was impressed. Can anyone out there in Smith and Wesson land make any recommendations.

HERITAGE SAFE
It have a Heritage safe and I am very pleased with it. The model # is C36-60 and it appears to be a well made unit. I paid the additional money for the extended warrenty and I have the Sargent & Greenleaf electronic combinatiton lock. Its easy to open if you have the correct combination. Cheaper safes like stack on, remington, and winchester are failry easy to pry open. They are on U tube showing you how. The more expensive safes, Liberty, Heritage, Browning are built stronger, much more difficult to open. You get what you pay for!

High Fire Rated safes don't cover all your potential problems.
Wooden stocks start to burn at about 500 degrees, Polymers start distorting or melting at ????
Another consideration is the response time of your fire department, City, Volunteer, or too far away to matter anyway.
A FIRE DOUBLES IN SIZE EVERY MINUTE.

Our Stack-On is rated 30min @ 1400 degrees F.
Which is a pretty good rate IMO, because we have fire extinguishers in the house and after 30min either you got it under control yourself, the fire fighters got it under control or it's hopeless lost forever...
Fort Knox advertises even 90min @ 1680 degrees F.

Lots of questions you need to answer BEFORE an EXPENSIVE SAFE PURCHASE.
