Default Simple question...

Here's the question:

When I say "payment," what is your reaction?

I guess I need a little more context to elicit a reaction. I'm a pretty literal thinker so the word by itself just means:
Noun: 1.The action or process of paying someone or something, or of being paid.
2.An amount paid or payable.

Well, I am answering this without reading other answers, and, to me, payment means real payment: cash; postal money order that cashes; a check that clears and causes no problems; there are other means that I don't involve myself with.

A plethora of pithy reactions as I surmised just might be the case...

I think of it in a positive way- as I'm the feller getting paid.
Lee nailed it.

It's amazing how many words can transfer a negative or positive outlook equally.
