Today is National donut day. Free donut (singular) at a lot of chains. Have one on me.

While we're here, some trivia. Who said "Attention Mr. & Mrs. America......." and do you remember hearing it live? Careful, if you're sensitive about your age this could be revealing.

And all you New Yorkers should get down on your knees and thank his Highness Mr. Bloomberg for not taking them away!

I went to Dunkin Donuts and got my free donut. They give a 10% senior discount at Dunkin, so Mr. Donut guy gave me .$08 back.

Southern Maid are my kind of donuts. But, around here, if the Asian-Americans don't celebrate NDD, I'm out of luck.

Donuts are OK as long as you're not washing 'em down with a 17 oz Coke. Obesity is a problem, don'tcha know...
How does somebody so incredibly stupid amass such a fortune?

Couldn't remember who said it but Walter Winchell sounds right. As I remember hearing it, it's: "Mr and Mrs NORTH America and all the ships at sea".

I recall it as "Good Evening Mr. and Mrs. North and South America and all the ships at sea" Followed by the sound of a telegraph key,
I found out many years later that he didn't even know Morse code, it was all for show.
