I like 10mm pistols....
I just took delivery of this 1st Series Delta Elite today from a dealer in Minnesota; I also a a 2nd Series Stainless Delta Elite, and a Glock 29....
I have about 40 of the original Norma 10mm ammo; much hotter then most of the current offerings available. I guess its time to learn how to reload!

Loading/reloading the 10mm makes it a very versatile round that can pack quite a punch for hunting or a mild round for target/plinkng or anywhere in between.
Casting and lube sizing your own lead bullets just makes it even better and cheaper.
10mm, when you care enough to send the very best.

I have never owned a 10mm, I most likely never will. I am to "wedded" to the 45 ACP and the 44 Mag.
I just do not want to get into a new calibre, magazines, reloading gear, etc...
I have shot a few of them, however, and I know a good thing when I see it.
It has a lot to recommend it, near 41 Mag performance in a semiauto, what is not to like?

cwo4uscgret,
Might want to check the rails on the frame. At a certain point in the first series, Colt opened up the slide stop slot all the way through the rail to solve the problem of frame cracking. If yours is closed a good gunsmith ought to be able to do this op for you.
My first 10mm was a blue Delta. Didn't even finish the first magazine and decided this is what I have been searching for all my life. I have been complete ever since. I don't have that one any more, but I aquired 8 more since then including a 3" lh 610.
NE450No2,
Who was it who said variety being the spice of life? I don't know if I would have switched to the 10mm if 45 ammo back then was like what is available today. I keep a Sig 220 on the nitestand. Gotta say I think they both individually are a far better choice than the .40 s&w.

What is that gun underneath the Double Eagle? I have a DE in 10mm and thought there was no other variation of it.

There are some companies, such as Buffalo Bore, that still make full power 10mm ammo. The big companies, such as Federal, load the 10mm down to barely more than 40S&W ballistics.

Ah, sorry for not labeling. That is a Colt Double Eagle Lightweight Officer's Model 10mm/.40S&W combo. 2 barrels and even separate mags. I have never seen another so I bought it when I saw it. I think all the lightweight officer's models had blued frame and stainless slide but I am not 100% on this. The other full sized Double Eagle I have has factory adjustable sights - AccuSights or something I believe they are called. Again, this is the only 10mm Double Eagle I've seen with adjustable sights. A colleague has one in .38 Super which is also very nice and quite rare.
I digress... The grips on the 10mm/.40 combo are not original and are quite nice.
I do not have a MP5/10, a Bren, a 1046, a 310NG (looking at one though), a LAR Grizzly, or a Wyoming Arms Parker. Other than that, if it is 10mm, I got it.

I should be green with envy, but instead I'm very happy for you. That is one nice collection.
Here is my all time favorite anything, an electroless nickle Colt Custom Combat 10. Factory steel trigger and curved mainspring housing, replaced with a Pachmyer msh. Kimber 10mm w/Wilson lanyard msh.

Ooh, I do like that finish. I've seen it before. There are probably 6 different Delta Elite special runs I'd love to have too but my money trees seem to have stopped producing as much...
Personally, I find no need for envy or jealousy. You've got that nice Custom Combat 10! And you know how 10mm are - you're bound to turn into 8tenz, 9tenz, then 10tenz!

7tenz - on the blue Delta the slide stop slot is a nice, open top, slot. Although I haven't tried to figure the date out I suspect it was made after Colt started the relief cutting.
Surprisingly the Glock 29, shooting Double Tap 10mm is soft in the hand; granted recoil is stronger then say a .45 acp, it is not punishing or violent. The Glock 29 is about the most versatile of the Glocks; I have 4 barrels for it; the factory 10mm and Lone Wolf .40 S&W, .357 Sig, and 9x25 Dillon. Of the 4 barrels the 9x25 Dillon is about an inch longer and ported. Of course for the uninitiated, the 9x25 Dillon is a 10mm necked down to 9mm...think of a 115 grain Speer Golddot JHP at 1,800 fps. Dillon developed it to make major with a 9mm.

I'm still fairly new to The Ten, having recently found this nearly-unfired 10mm EAA Witness (top) shown with it's 20-years-older cousin, my long-abused (early small-frame) 40S&W. It's closing in on 50,000 rounds fired this year.
I have yet to shoot much factory ammo, all the LGS had was this stuff, and it's HORRID. Average velocity ran about 865 fps......my 40's go faster than that! ZERO expansion in water or wetpack.
Most of my experience has been with handloads, everything from 135 grains up to 200, and a big dollop of Longshot under a 135-grain Nosler HP does things to milk jugs that have to be seen to be believed. I've taken to carrying this gun in cooler weather with the Critical Defense load. But I'm on the hunt for a S&W 610, hopefully with a 3-4" barrel. My Witness has a 22-pound recoil spring and it still throws brass into the next zip code!

I would have changed to 8tenz when I got the Kimber, but the forum didn't recognize hotmail accounts. They do now, but I decided to just sign out as 8tenz. I'd be 9tenz if I still had the first blue Delta.
One thing about that CCC10 finish is it scratches by just looking at it. I fired about one box of Silvertips when I bought it in '97 and it looks well used. Got too many shooters to wanna wear this one out.
The only 10mm available as a new purchase here in CA that I don't have is a Glock 29(and Kimber Eclipse 10). I saved my nickles but ended up spending on other deals instead. I want a 29sf.

I always love these 10mm threads!
Here's a few not-so-common 10mms.
Bren Ten Standard Model with smooth Herret grips (next to a S&W 1006).
Olympic Arms 10mm mated to a CNC AR45 lower.
T/C Contender with 14", 10" and 6.5" barrels.

Do you occasionally shoot your Bren Ten? I am so jealous.
I had a 1006 for the last 2 years I lived in Canada, half of 1989 through the first
half of 1991. I really liked it. I was impressed with it's power. I remember loading
a 200 grain JSP using 2400 powder up to 1,200 fps. It was a real thumper, although
I do not remember the exact charge and my chrony book with that load jotted down
in it is still back at my sister's house if she hasn't thrown it out in the last 22 years.
Anyway. I am so jealous.

I don't own one but have always wanted a 10mm. I was really hoping the new rendition of the Bren would make it but it doesn't seem so.

I have an older Colt Delta that sees occasional use. I also have a Glock 21SF that takes a 10mm barrel. I had heard some time ago that it might be possible to convert the .45ACP Glock to 10mm. Some agreed, some didn't. Many seemed to think that extraction would be "iffy" because of the larger case head on the .45. Anyway, I ordered a 10mm barrel and a couple of mags from Lone Wolf Dist., plugged them into the Glock with no other changes, and it works like a charm! I've probably put a thousand or so rounds through it so far - handloads, light Federals, heavy Double Tap, etc., and I've not had a single malfunction. Accuracy is better than with the factory .45 barrel and, since the 10mm barrel is conventionally rifled, I can also shoot lead. I still carry the .45 most of the time, but the 10mm barrel goes in when I'm headed to the mountains.

I knew I forgot something; last year I bought an Olympic Arms 10mm AR upper. It is a straight blowback design and mated with a DPMS AR A2 lower it is a blast to shoot. The only drawback are the 19 round plastic magazines:
