I've been trying to trick out a 629 hunter that I just got. It's a beautiful piece and the performance center did themselves well. I have a Bushnell trophy scope that just came. I forgot to get mounts and rings for it, and I need some way to carry it in the field. Yes, this one is for deer hunting. What mounts should I use for it? Also I thought about getting a holster for it to carry it in the field and was advised against it by a shooting buddy that has done the same thing. He suggested a strap link the big 50 cal has on it. He said that if I adjust it right, it will hang in front of me where I can protect it from the bushes and it will also serve to steady my aim. What do you think?
