I had a glass of Scotch last nite
So, Last nite I had a glass of Glenlivet after supper. That led to two more glasses.
This morning when I got up and checked my email I realized why it is not a good idea to drink too much and then do a little on line shopping.
I had a receipt in my inbox for $158.00 dollars worth of Cuban Cigars.
I am thinking about having a couple of beers and looking around for a humidor. Then again, maybe not.

The Internet and alcohol don't always mix well. SWI (Shopping While Intoxicated) and PWI (Posting While Intoxicated) may not be as bad as a DUI, but can be pretty embarrasing and/or expensive in their own ways.

Yeah, I do need to watch the shopping while intoxicated. I have a friend on another forum that drinks and posts messages. He has imbarrassed me. I can't imagine how he felt.
I guess I needed a cigar with my scotch. That is a pretty good combination.

That's not so bad. At least you didn't try to smoke your scotch!

Yes, I was "in my cups" when I ordered my Russian bride Svetlana. She's a little older and chubbier than in her internet pic. Butt, she brought her own horse and plow. She has quite a collection of babushkas and her Vodka habit is breaking my bank. She has plowed the whole neighborhood (my neighbors think it was moles)

you think that's bad....try waking up and seeing about 10 bid acknowlegments for gunbroker in your inbox. Then you get to sweat out the next few days praying you get outbid.

I can attribute quite a few gun related purchases to SWI. My first exposure to 3d gen Semi auto Smiths was about 2 years ago thanks to SWI. Gen4 Glock17-SWI, Yugo M24/47 8mm Mauser-SWI, 1917 Savage .32 & a 20's Mosburg Brownie both at the same time - SWI. Springfield 1911 stainless -SWI. There is probably a few more i didnt think of. All these within the past 2 years. Some ive sold or traded later on

Shopping while intoxicated on the internet will get you everytime:
My SWI purchases include:
1. a star in a distant galaxy named after my my dog, Remy
2. a certificate of ownership of several bridges crossing the Mississippi
River
3. several knightships in the Kingdom of Andorra
4. Membership in the Secret Spoonbill Society
5. a Bactrian camel (is that one hump or two?)
6. and an M-3 halftrack that was delivered this morning
I know that all of you will be envious of my outstanding purchases --
and being in a benevolent mood, I am open to any offers to purchase
said items.
Except for the camel -- she has long eyelashes and she is kind of pretty
(I will need to teach her to stop spitting).

Yes, have seen the damage done to my funds by several adult libations mixed with a couple of hours on GunBroker.

You better delete the picture you posted of yourself in the revolver section of you wearing woman's underwear and holding a scotch bottle.

Whenever I'm in the doghouse or just want to make my wife feel special I buy her a bottle of Glenlivet 12 year old. As far as she's concerned roses are dead flowers that are later thrown away, a good bottle of scotch is something to be enjoyed over a period of time much longer than roses will last. She will share her Glen but I prefer Bowmore.

I once spent a Sunday drinking, watching football, and making runs to the record store. I own almost the entire AC/DC catalogue buying 1 CD at a time in one day. Most of them have been permanently borrowed.

I orderd a full box of Montecristo number 4's.
It could have been worse. I could have bought a $350.00 box.

Now the fun part. My wife was looking at HER credit card balance on line and asked me what I bought for $158.00 dollars.
I told her I didn't want to talk about it.
It will start all over when the box shows up.

One night while perusing e-bay after consuming several bourbons ( not a good Idea ) i stumbled on an old army 5 ton truck 2 minutes left in the auction and the price was real good so I put in a bid! Thankfully someone out bid me in the last few seconds! I still would have loved to see my neighbors faces when I parked that thing in my driveway!!

Yea i loose my hold on instant gratification when i drink. I gotta have it! Heres a few SWI moments i forgot. All within the last 3 months.
5 E. German bakelite AK74 mags $100. That in itself is a good price since normally they go for $120 for 4 but still i have plenty and dont have an immediate need for these.
This next one is also a steal but again i have several and didnt really need this one. Never fired, still new in wrapping (no box) with extra mags. Pre ban Norinco underfolder AK47. $599! Avg price closer to a $1000
And currently on layaway a 4046. $250. Dont really need another caliber but now i have one.
Its not my fault there is a gun store 1/4 mile before my house and another 5 miles past my friends house, whos 20 miles from me
