Default Wood spacers for grip storage

I have accumulated several set of grips lately, and found some nice wood spacers from Hobby Lobby that work really well for storage. I had tried shell casings but like the fit of the wood better. They are 3/8" cubes, 18 to a package for $1.49. I place a cube about 1" above the screw and one 1" below the screw, flush with opening on back of grips. Just my $.02.

Here is a picture of the spacers. These grips are a pair that I cleaned up and put some Renaissance wax on and ready for storage. I love big wood on my S&W Revolvers.

I don't believe that you could make your own for that cheap.

i've used .38 specials too, but recently tried some 9mm casings and the wood seems to fit more uniformly with them
