Saw something on TV a couple of weeks ago about a product called Liquid Glass, a car polish. It's supposed to be much better than any car wax, but contains no wax, and is far more durable and protective than wax. I have never used it and know nothing about it. But it seems to have the potential to be used for guns (I normally use Johnson paste wax on mine). Very expensive stuff, $25/can. Any ideas?

This is all I use on my cars and trucks, and I've used it for years. I think that before it was marketed as liquid glass, it was called astro shield. Great stuff, goes on and off easy, and looks fantastic. As far as guns go though I don't have a clue! I think that it has silicones and polymers rather than wax.

I had no idea people waxed their guns. I've known people who waxed their heads.

Liquid glass is polymer based and is great stuff. Originally formulated to protect gelcoat on boat hulls from salt spray, it soon became popular with Corvette owners. 2 thing to consider however is buildup and the lack of adequate UV protection,but that may not be a factor when used on a gun.
Unlike a natural wax,polymers do not nourish naked metal so that too may have to be considered.
