Hickcock45
What do you think about Hickcock45's videos ?
Are there any members who are as good as him with snub nose revolvers at 80 yards?
Could it be the water in middle Tennessee is what turns out such great shooters?
Or, just maybe, it's the moonshine!

Agree, your own place to shoot with LOTS of ammo will make your average shot a great shot.

I enjoy his videos. I appreciate his ability & the way he passes info & above all, the non mall ninja approach. Just a regular guy with some great shooting skills!

Yes walking out your back door to your private range surely helps. Putting that aside he is a great shooter and more importantly a super CLASS ACT. A great asset to the shooting sport who attempts to educate his viewers.

I feel that I've learned a lot of good techniques from watching his videos. Really appreciate his laid-back, honest, common sense approach to teaching. On top of all that, he is one heck of a good handgun shot!

I enjoy his videos. They're full of good information and interesting guns, combined with great shooting.
I met him(briefly) at the Knob Creek gun show a few weeks back-he came across just the same in person as he does in his videos.

I enjoy his videos. They seem to resonate with a "layperson" gun owner. No nonsense, no overuse of fancy terms, doesn't try to make everything "tactical," and much focus on the fun factor.
It probably helps that when I was a kid I grew up in the sticks and shot waterjugs, cans, metal plates, and otherwise made targets out of the darndest things.

He's a great big scrapper! At gun shows, he stands head and shoulders above everyone else. I'd be interested to know how tall he is.

I like his gun reviews. Very unbiased and he gives an honest opinion, unlike some others, like maybe one James Yeager!

I enjoy his videos.
He is good for sure. There is an element of mental control that he has: Once he made a statement - "gonna use a little ZEN and..."
Zen (Buddhism) is complex, at the same time very simple. In this case: center yourself, focus, clear the mind.
Snipers have excellent mind control.

He's one of the only guys worth following on youtube. A real class act. His reviews are honest and you can tell he really does enjoy drinking a lot of 2 liter sodas, lol... He's got a great outdoor range setup too.

Take away the 6'7" frame, the home range, the ammo cache, the variety of firearms, and his God-given skills, Hickok45 is just a big kid enjoying his passion. He's a breath of fresh air in an increasingly conflicted firearms community, and the type of man you could call "friend".

He is a good shot, though sometimes you'll catch him flinching when dropping the hammer on an empty chamber. I like that he doesn't edit those out, or a lot of other flubs. He doesn't let his ego rule, which is why he is entertaining to watch and listen to.

When I had a Python in the mail I watched his 4 inch blued python video every day! In response to the OP's question nope I am nowhere near as good as Hickock45, but I still would love to shoot next to him!

JUST KIDDING! Great vids delivered in a homestyle approach. Like watching an uncle show ya something'. He's an avuncular sure shot!

Down to earth individual that you just take a liking to and a great representative of the shooting community.
When I am curious about a firearm, off to you tube and Hickcock45.

I'm a big hickok45 fan. Not sure about the water in hickok's area but the water in my area of middle TN doesn't help me. I don't shoot anywhere near as well as hickok.
One thing about hickok's review of guns is that he actually shoots the thing and discusses stuff like trigger pull,
hand grip, safety, and so on. He also normally compares them to something, usually a Glock. A bunch of you tube
reviewers don't do these things. Basically, most of them just show you the gun and field strip it or just go
out an shoot. Some of the shooters are nice-looking babes but don't tell you much about guns.

What I like about Hickock45 is that he is not one of those 'tactical' idiots. He takes the gun, shoots some pumpkins, laughs his butt of because he hit the steel pig all the way in the back and gives some none BS review about the firearm.

He's the guy that convinced me to buy my first Glock. I figured if he could hit a gong at 80 yds with a tiny G26, it had to be good. Now I'm getting addicted to those ugly plastic guns as well.

Some guys are great cooks. Some guys are great carpenters. Some guys are great mechanics. H. 45 is a great shooter. Yeah he gets a lot of practice but I do to. I've been shooting for 63 or 64 years and I ain't ANYWHERE near that good and could never be in a million years and/or a million rounds.
The guys a shooter I te'ya! But I like his attitude. He doesn't seem the least bit conceited or arrogant about it. Just seems to kind of take it in stride. If I could shoot like that I'd pro'lly be a real jerk about it.

Happy little bullets..
Hickock doesn't pretend to be someone he's not. All those guys named [something]tactical or similar can't decide if they're SEALS or Heavy Metal artists. Heck, they can't even hold the darn camera still which should be simple as there's no wind down there in their mom's basement.
Hickock keeps his videos reasonable length. Doesn't say "um" every other word. Presents stuff in a logical sequence, not just a bunch of random thoughts. And I can SEE what he's trying to show/demonstrate. Nothing ruins a YouTube video more for me than an out of focus, jumping around, zooming in and out, random collection of some guy's thoughts.
Thumbs up, Hickock45..

I highly value the opinions offered here when someone asks a question but when you can see those words put into action......!
Anytime I see a gun that interests me I check online for ranges in pricing. I'll check here for opinions but more importantly I always look to see what Hickok45 is doing.
It has to be the highest form of respect when manufacturers, gunshops and regular gun enthusiasts send Hickok their firearm to test and review.
I haven't been shooting for very long but I can honestly say that I can match Hickok45 stride for stride up until the trigger is pulled. LOL!!!

I used to ring a gong at 100yds with my old model 60, but that was a while ago.
I'm a big fan of Hickoc.45 even subscribe to his channel! The guy shoots some unusual stuff that interest me nowadays, Tokarev, Nano, a certain Smith 642 that he rang bells with, plus his assortment if old battle rifles a shotguns just makes me smile!
The guy is first class all the way! And I do believe he's posted here a few times too!

Sorry, this had to be done one you put that thought in my head...
As others have said, Hickok45 is a great ambassador of firearms. I do enjoy all of his video's, but also his message and the very effective way he delivers it. He was a teacher by trade and you can definitely see that skill translate through his public speaking ability. He comes across as a very knowledgeable, rational and non-tactical, which are all very good things when you're beaming your video's out to the world. Much of what he speaks about is in the interest of educating new shooters. I have especially enjoyed his Elmer Keith tributes. Actually, watching the actual shooting of targets doesn't interest me as much as hearing what his thoughts are on various topics.
He even made it to Philadelphia to Independence Hall to speak at a Pro-Gun rally right down the street! That makes him a patriot in my book!
And while I'm at it, God Bless Bob Ross!

I've enjoyed Hicok45's videos for quite a while. It's gotten to the point that I go see if he has a review before I buy anymore...
He's a great resource and I'm glad he's there. I wish I had a range out my back door!

Makes me sick
Hickok45 makes me sick. It's not that he can just shoot better than me, the way he handles those short barrels........
His positive points are that he gives great reviews and seems a very genuine down-to-earth guy.
And he's prejudiced toward pumpkins, too. He profiles them and shoots without asking questions.

On one of his videos he said, "C'mon Greg," when he was having problems hitting something with a pinned and recessed 629.

Got me to try long range handgun shooting. Think I could do the 230 yd gong shot, have to use a Keith reclined position, though.
