Finish protection for night stand guns
Over the years I have tried keeping my guns in various things to protect the finish but yet, leave them readily accessible. Finally found something that works well for me. A stocking cap that has not been stretched out of shape allows easy access but still protects the finish. Also works good for carrying in the center console or glove compartment.

My "nightstand gun" is in a Safepacker holster affixed to the accessory belt made for the holster by thewilderness.com, affording complete protection for the gun, weaponlight , and a spare mag, and a means to fasten it to my body, regardless of how much or little clothing I may be wearing at the time I need to grab it and go. In the event of a fire, home invasion, both, or etc., you may need to flee immediately, so some means of transporting your "bug out gun" is necessary...

Pretty much like ARIK. But, I have some more hid out in different places with easy access.

My theory on a HD gun is get one that has lots of "character" as we like to say. If that terrible day comes and you have to use it, I don't want one of my "good" guns in some police evidence room for God knows how long. I know they won't care for it, or check on it's condition like I would.

Mine as well (love that Renwax) - then a pair of "jamy shorts" for it sit on top of - in the morning it gets moved under the "jamy shorts" and they lay there as if they are there for me to put on in the evening. And no - I'm not telling your whether my "jamy's are silk or flannel, boxers or briefs!!!

I'm more worried about the gun scratching my Louis XIV nightstand.
