Talking Deer Down!

I have hunted A LOT this year and have seen a few real nice bucks but they never provided me with the shot I needed. I took 3 days off during the first week of November (which usually treats me well), but didn't end up tagging a buck. We recently had our first snow of the year and I decided to take my last vacation day on Wednesday 11/13/13. It was in the low 20's and I had only seen a doe and button buck for the first 1.5 hours but around 8:00 am the woods came alive! I had a small buck chase 3 does right by the stand and I looked back to see this guy following behind grunting. I tried to stop him at 15 yards for a shot, but he was focused on the does. He ended up moving on through some brush and came into an opening behind my stand. I had to maneuver around a bit to get into position for the shot but it all worked out in the end

Now I have a few more does to kill and some coyotes that need calling!

Nice buck Kris! Persistence usually pays off. You can't kill 'em if you don't go.

Kris

Very nice Buck!! I took a week off over Halloween to bow hunt. I Managed to fall out of my tree. Unhurt but shook up. Ladder broke at the top and sent me with it. The next day I bagged a nice doe. Passed on a couple bucks all week. Haven't seen one since.

Very nice buck. Looks like a Matthews. You like those. I'm a Hoyt Maxxis guy. Just can't switch,but I'm leaning that way.

Jim,

It is a Mathews. I have passed on numerous small bucks. I have seen 4 very nice bucks this year that were much bigger than this deer. He has an odd rack but was a big bodied deer. I'm happy with him. I killed one very similar to him two years ago;

My wife no longer despises me.....deer killed 11/20/11

and then there was last years.....going to be a fight to top it....

Well.....my deer season is DONE....for the most part
