Dirty rotten thieves!!!
Several weeks ago a friends house was vandalized... 6 handguns stolen (mostly Smiths)... last week another frriends house was robbed. Small, stuff... CD's and cash (left in a tip jar from work)...
The crook was interupted, but ran into the woods and disappeared.
Today, at that same friends house I notice his new stihl chainsaw missing. I call him (he is in anchorage buying supplies), and ask him about it....
looks like our thief was back in the last few day's...
The troopers where called, but who knows.. they know who it is. Heck.. everybody in town knows who it is.......
Why isn't the good ol ways of tar and feathers acceptable anymore??
ciao....
reuben...

Trail cams have been used to good effect to find the perps. Localy about 2 months ago an older couple was having some bath tile work when the woman noticed some of her pain meds missing out of her medicine bottle after they finished for the day. Her husband installed a trail cam inside a Cheerios box and.... wa la... the tile man returned & was caught on camera emptying the bottle this time.
He has free room & board now. (Just love those happy endings)

Reuben, I fully agree about the thieves. But I'm more curious about an Alaskan who says CIAO.

I thought the rule in Alaska was you just shoot 'em and let the animals deal with what's left.

Sad thing is, in a lot of cases the victims end up knowing the thief.

Time to practice the Three Ss.
Shoot

Always nice to be friends with someone who owns a back hoe.

No more "tar and feathers".
Lawyers, ACLU and other liberals got involved.

Sometimes it works out.
My sister lives in Atlanta. Don't ask me why.
Anyway she was at a restaurant and had her IPhone out and took some pictures. She foolishly left the thing sitting on the table and it got swiped right out from under her nose.
The phone is tied in to her IPad and Mac desktop computer thru the "cloud", and she was able to track down the knuckleheads in nothing flat. They were actually taking pictures of themselves with the phone!
So now one has been deported (for the second time) and one is going down on a third strike.

Nothing pushes me over the edge quicker than a stinking thief! Had stuff stolen from me and I was told who it was and I went nuts and busted into his house and went into his bedroom and got my stuff back. That was a LONG time ago and would never do such a stupid thing again but....it worked. He was in bed with his girl friend and just gave up on the spot. I was not armed and not sure about him but everything worked out ok and we are still friends, sort of. could never do such a thing these days, too bad about that.
Hope everyone gets their stuff back.
Joe

Someone did that out here in a way rural town near the state line a few years back. There was a sign at the gate to the property that stated.
"If you are found here at night. You will be found here in the morning."
The local PD found a grave with a couple bodies and a backhoe near by. I don't think the property owner was the that did it.

I know this guy who just retired as a machinist. He had a shop in a not so good part of town. Around the shop he had a 6' fence with razor wire. On the fence he had signs that read "Warning, Shotguns With Tripwires." The shotguns were cut down .410's aimed below the knees. He also had game cameras and a photo album with dozens of pictures of newly injured burglars. None of them complained.

I sort of figured Alaska, other than Juneau and Anchorage, for a frontier kind of justice. You know the kind where the town gets together and tells the perp he would be better off living in Seattle. Emphasis of course would be placed on the word "living." Having a coil of hemp rope visible when the message is delivered probably would help insure understanding.

I can't stand a thief either !!
To have a low-life sneak in and take because they
are too lazy to work for what they have just makes my
blood boil. I, like countless others work hard for the
things i have and justice may be slow in coming but i
truly believe what goes around comes back around.
Thieves will eventually end up stealing their way dead or
in jail.

My FIL had his Dan Wesson revolver stolen in a break in which the insurance company replaced with a S&W 586. Now he keeps his guns hidden well. He got broken into again a year ago but they didn't find his guns and stole drugs and money this time. We knew who did it but the police couldn't prove it and at least he moved out of state now.
He also got robbed in his own living room but they caught him and now he's in jail. Unfortunately we can't get him to move from the hood and worry about his safety.
Both of these punks were from the neighborhood and my father in law had helped out many times in the past. Beware of those you know when break ins occur.

A few years ago a new paperboy, around 13 YO, came to our door asking to use the bathroom. Sure, no problem. The next day he showed up with his sister and made the same request. Request denied. It seems that while in the bathroom they were looking for drugs to steal and were put up to it by an older guy. My wife takes pain meds but keeps them in the kitchen so there was nothing to steal, beyond aspirin. These days you can't be to paranoid.

Castration with a broken beer bottle should be the preferred punishment for thieves.

A very high rate of thefts a committed by "friends" of the victim's children, who invite them in.

A select group of locals who are deeply concerned for the well being of the individual involved..... will be letting him know, that no matter where he goes in this small community (with only one road in or out), that they will be watching out for his welfare. That all eyes will be watching, him.. night and day...to keep him out of harms way.
How comforting it must be to know that your every move will be monitored and reported to your very own group of dedicated friends, who care so very.. very... much.....
