I'll say one thing - they SELL. Working p/t at a GS/Range, we have people with absolutely ZERO firearms experience come in and are considering a purchase. Of course a few Glocks are rentals and get rented and used almost daily.
Then folks go buy one out of the Glock cabinet.
I owned one once, an early G17 when the whole idea was new.
And I own an M&P .45 mid-size, 'cause I was impressed with the design when I attended an Armorers Course (and I was able to buy it for $200).
But overall, Glocks for me hold all the appeal and interest of a really nice adjustable wrench.

I have 2 both Springfield XD-9s 1 is the full sized and the other is the sub-compact. good weapons but they just don't feel like a good all steel revolver or 1911.

I have a number of polymer guns. Best I can recall, about 8 of them in various flavors. I also have a bunch of wood & steel guns, let's just say more than 8. The polymer guns are great tools and do what they're intended to do very well. They're easy to maintain (or not), they work all the time, they're light, and they generally hit what they're aimed at.
Problem is, they don't have any class. I like 'em fine for what they are, but I love the revolvers and the 1911's for their artistry, their history, their engineering and their craftsmanship. Those guns have class and character. The polymer guns are just tools.

Only one, a G19. Bought it as a carry gun. Works great for that, but still prefer my 3" 65!

Never owned one. I did shoot a Glock one time. A 45acp. That was just about 20 yrs ago. Never a desire to get one.
But they certainly do appeal to a lot of people. The designs and materials probably do more to keep the industry afloat with sales than any others.

Only have two now, a pair of Glock 19s. I'd reach for one of those if the balloon went up. Do AR 15s with their plastic stocks and forends count?

only two survived
I've sold/traded all my Glocks...tried them for years but never developed a fondness for them...19, 23, 26, 17, 17L, 20.
Only two plastic gun left are a couple of Kel Tec ones. I'll keep them, inexpensive as they are, because they are light and small.

I currently have one of the Gwords, a 17. I've owned a bunch of them, and a .45 XD as well. All were/are dependable. Like toilet paper, every house should have some. Also like toilet paper, nothing I want to collect.

I'm pretty much a revolver guy and don't have any pictures of my 40c by itself but I do have this one with my 442.For carry the 442 is summer. For winter it's the 40c or Kimber 1911.The revolvers are just flat out gorgeous and alot more of them are on my bucket list than semis either polymer or steel.

Had a bunch...The Stanley hammers of firearms...Currently, I have a G17 and 27 as well as a Kahr P9 Covert and KelTec P3AT. They are light and durable. Also, if one is taken as evidence or dropped or otherwise banged up it wouldn't cause me the pain of something like that happening to one of my vintage S&W or Colt revolvers or autos. They are a simple, reliable tools...no asthetic properties for me but useful.

I am mostly a blued steel and walnut guy, with the occasional SS variety thrown in but, I couldn't resist a M&P22. So much so I have a M&P 40 Pro Series in 5" on order.
I did pick up a very nice 29-5 while I was waiting though.
