old cast iron 9 1/2" hacksaw
found this today in an antique mall. never saw one this short. no markings. any ideas as to age or special purpose. it's still got a good blade but i don't think i'll use it. it'll go on the den wall with all the other odd stuff i've accumulated. lee

I'm no expert but it just looks like an old-style hacksaw to me.
It seems to me I've seen old drills with that style handle too.

It looks like a professional grade one to me. We had one just like it around the house except it wasn't cast iron.

acp230, i've seen other similar ones too, but i've never seen a short bladed hacksaw before. lee
