Talking Found the perfect hiding place

Went shopping early! Bought the boss an Ithaca shotgun [for skeet shooting with daughter] for Christmas. It's a 12 gauge; too big to easily hide in our house. Couldn't figure out where to hide it; with the holidays coming on, closets will be opened to get out decorations. Saw a friend and asked if I could stash it at his house. So now its where the boss will never accidentally find it.

Shopping done and present won't be found. I'm smiling.

Incidentally, whether you shoot your own turkey or corral yours at a store--have a great Thanksgiving. I hope you all are surrounded by friends and family!

I bought my wife a TV for Christmas once and I stuck it in the trunk of my 1950 Chevy restoration project until Christmas Eve.

I could take it apart so it would fit in the oven and my wife would never find it. Larry

Somewhat off topic:
I moved into an apartment years ago. Once day, I moved the refrigerator out for cleaning. A part of the fridge's mechanism resembled a large cup, and in it I found a single .22 Magnum round. Got me to thinking.
Many refrigerators have enough space behind them, or inside the back of them, to stash a handgun. Hidden correctly, it's quick reach for it.
In the same apartment, I put a couple of gun hooks in the closet, above the entry and toward the front. This held my 20" barreled Remington 870 20 gauge.
You had to step into the closet, turn around and look up to see it.
Few people will step far enough into a closet and look up, so I considered it safe -- yet ready to go.
Knew an old man years ago with a homemade floor lamp with 4" sides. Nicely varnished wood.
He showed me one day its secret: a panel was hinged to open, and inside was a small pump shotgun. It was near the entry door, in plain view, but who would steal a homemade floor lamp?
Seems to me that a small automatic like a .25 or a .32 could be secreted inside a VHS video tape.
Lots of places to hide guns if you look around and have a bit of imagination.

I haven't used it since I bought safes and got an alarm but in most houses there is a pretty large area beneath the heat/ac unit behind the air filter. I've investigated hundreds of home burglaries and never once seen a burglar look here. The only time anyone would know what was in there is when the filter is changed. Unless your wife has been taught to change the filter she will never look here.

Only thing wrong with that is who still has VHS tapes? I had over a hundred of them, and dumped them all. I don't even have a VHS player any more. I keep my .25 inside a deep ceramic vase near the front door.

Christmas of 1945 my mother and my buddys mother bought us a coaster wagon and hid it in a neighbors shed. We somehow found it, surmised it was going to be ours and tore it apart to the last bolt.
Santa claus come to a neighborhood party at a house across the road christmas eve. He gave out presents except to dickie and me. Finaly he said follow me boys. Seemed the whole village followed us next door to the shed. Santa had a lantern and opened the door and there was the wagon in pieces. I didnt know santa could swear like that!

A pistol grip, short barreled shotgun can be openly placed in an umbrella holder close to the front door with several other canes and umbrellas; it just blends in.

Maybe this should be a separate thread, but do you regularly store your weapons in 2 or more places? I think the boss is thinking of creating separate, new secure storage to protect his new gift from burglars who might be savvy enough to get around gun safe....
