Raptor Reverie
I love to photograph birds. My favorite are the raptors. I have hundreds of photos so I thought I would share a few here.

Nice photos! You live in one of the very best bird-photography places in the world. I hope you know this!
Things are much different up here, just try to get close to any of the raptors, any of the herons, etc., and watch them fly away when you're still 80 or 100 yards away.

Amazing photos! Thank you for posting them, BOS.
The osprey reflection shot is fantastic! I really enjoyed that one.
Your use of less depth of field on the Red Shouldered Hawk shots makes the bird pop nicely with great detail. Well done, sir.
I always root for the raptor, not the prey. Love 'em.
We have numerous hawks in our area, including many Red Tailed Hawks and a few of these are some serious bruisers. We always enjoy seeing the raptors.

Great photos of some beautiful birds. On a houseboat trip on the St. John's river
out of Deland we saw countless encounters between ospreys & eagles with
amazing aerial acrobatics. You & I both live in birding Paradise.
Regards,
turnerriver

Great photo's, I hope you belong to the Photographic Society of America,, and enter Wild Life photo competitions. You have a real talent, as a former amateur photographer I recognize talent.

Something about birds and photography, they seem to be made for each other.
Those are fantastic photos, I wish I was 1/10th as good as you.
Birdwatchers really get an eye full.

Sensational photos! But what, apart from the fact that they are bird-brains, would cause an osprey to attack a larger eagle?!

We have three that hunt in the back yard, a sharp-shinned, a kestrel, and a coopers. It's amazing to see how efficiently they track and catch their prey! I have taken a few photos, but nothing even close to compares to yours. I second the sentiment on the osprey reflection photo! That has to be an award winner!

Well, I realize that, but does a leopard compete with lions or (in Asia) tigers? No, he tries to avoid being noticed by the larger cat.
Those ospreys must be very bold. I have seen pix of eagles stealing fish from ospreys, but that's a matter of the larger bird being more aggressive, as I'd expect.

Here is a pic I took of a young Red Tail a couple years ago, watching me from his perch on an old power pole. The second is of a Red Tail that grabbed a rabbit right in front of me while driving down a dirt road.

While I am no ornithologist,
it is interesting competition
within their biosphere, Texas Star.
Felines like other animalia
may be absolutely different.
