There's one coming to Delaware in 2014. The location is 20 mins from my house, 5 mins from where I currently work.

Best thing about being smack dab in the middle of Ohio? Any direction you go you are leaving the state!

You do know that once a store is built in your state, you will have to pay tax AND shipping on all online purchases.

That one looks like the real deal, not an outpost. It's a good idea to get the Cabelas VISA card when they move into your neighborhood. You get a few more sales offerings and discounts which help calm down their prices somewhat.

Where in Delaware? Might be closer to suburban Philly than Hamburg, PA.

Christiana Mall. Exit 4A off Interstate 95.
It will be almost right up against the interstate once it's completed.
Much closer to Philly than Hamburg. Hamburg is 2 hrs 15 mins from my house.

Eh..........
Been to one been to all. I find that if one searches out a local sporting goods shop one finds much more interesting stuff. Case in point Florida. They have the big boxed, Academy, Cabelas etc. The local stores you need to search out. They have what the locals use and great homemade nets, etc tailored for the local area. KInda like the old local hardware stores or the LGS just with fishing stuff..

Technicaly most States require you to pay sales tax on mail-order purchases it's just that most people don't do it. I hear that some States are starting to crack down on that.

Get ready for more traffic . Grand opening will bring everybody and their brother there. At least when you sign up for one of their visa cards you'll get around $20 in points to use.
What you need to get your hands on is one of Cabelas coupons/post card flyers that gets you $40 for bringing a guest to sign up for a Cabelas card. Then just ask the 5 people standing in line to get one to be your guest, and get the max of $200 in bonus points.

For me, it's going to be an hour closer and 6% cheaper than the one in Hamburg PA. Can't wait!

The Cabela's in metro Phoenix has lots of taxidermy on display, including a large diorama with elk and other indigenous animals from AZ's higher elevations, but incongruously includes an inappropriate specimen that would never be found among any of the others. I challenged a friend to find the offense among all the displays in the store, and he did, right off the bat, at first glance. I won't mention it here, so as to not spoil the challenge for folks who may want to see for themselves ... The designer ought to have known better...

Very, very, very occasionally they will have a decent deal on an old gun. Usually when they don't know what it is.

One just opened in Charleston, WV. Until now, the nearest ones has been Wheeling. The best part of it opening is that Gander Mountain has stepped up their game and has become a pretty decent store. Sure is nice actually being able to actually walk into a store and see a nice selection of guns, reloading supplies, outdoor clothing, etc...even if their prices aren't the greatest.
On a side note, my best friend picked up a very nice early-mid 70's production 29-3 (I believe) for around $650. It has the best DA trigger I've ever felt...a truely superb piece of workmanship.

They do carry ammo that you can't find anywhere else.....
Plus, ISP there is no shipping cost. For me, I also pay only 6% ID sales tax rather then WA 8.9%.....
And I get a 5% military discount.....

The best thing about Cabelas is their Cabelas Club Visa program. We use the card for everything and usually accumulate $300-400/yr in points. We stop at the nearest store a couple of times a year. The wife buys shoes and I buy ammo with the points.

Nope, there is an elephant or two in the store, as I recall, but not in the diorama in question...

Why even think about Cabelas when you have a Fin Feather & Fur up the road in Ashland? I've been to the Cabelas in Dundee, Michigan, after seeing their prices on EVERYTHING I came away wishing that we had a "Fin" here in Michigan.
