Default Mannlicher-Schoenauer Question?

In most bolt-action rifles, you can press down on the top CTG in the magazine and slide the bolt closed over it, leaving the chamber empty.

Does the rotary magazine in the M-S prevent that, or will it work?

I used to have a M-1908 M-S carbine, but can't recall if I could close the bolt that way, leaving a full magazine and an empty chamber.

Yes, you can press down on the top cartridge and close the bolt on an empty chamber. Works on both my 1903 model and my wife's 1950 model.

Thanks, but I've never heard of that model. I thought 1903 was the initial year for the magazine designed by Otto Schonauer.
