Default Rural Mail Carriers

Got to love them.

I live out of town (a small town), and my mail box is on the highway, about a mile from the highway.

So I do most of my "shooting related" buying via the internet, which reqires a trip to town every time I get one of those little pink slips. (wont fit in the mail box).

So I figured for the cost of a couple trips to town I counld buy one of the great big mail boxes, Jumbo Size.

So I get one, mount it the post and I'm all set.

So I go to the mail box today and here it is, a "pink slip" saying I have a package at the post office.

I was a little Tee'd until I read the note for the Mail Lady.

"To big "even for your very nice new mail box".

Mail carries, got to love 'em.

In our small rural town we don't even have mail delivery. We have to go down the mountain to the Post Office to get our mail every day. We try to time our trips when they're open just in case we get one of those little slips.

Same here, our little burg is so small we don't have mail delivery at the house. When we lived out of town we had to drive 13 miles to check the mail. Only time it really ticked me off was when a company said they don't mail things to a P.O. Box. I learned who to order from and the heck with those who will not.

Our guy gets a nice Christmas gift each year as I get several 60# boxes from the MT Gold bullet folks each year. He drives the 1/4 mile up to the house and drops them on the workbench in the garage. Goood guy. Could simply do the pink slip...but delivers just the same.

We're not that far and on a nice day it's just a walk down the mtn then back up again.
Our Post Mistress knows us, so she knows who it is when we have our street address rather than our PO box on a package.
