Post A different perspective!!

I agree with the many frustrations expressed here, BUT I also agree with the more moderate voices, who call for restraint at this holy season.

Try and put yourself in my place. My beloved wife of almost 48 years (12-26-12) died two days ago after a long debilitating illness. I have been at her bedside for many months. My God was willing for me to fulfill my promise to her that I would keep her at home and let her die in her own bed. It was not easy, but with HIS help, I was able to do it.

Celebrate this Holy Season with your families and loved ones as I am trying to do with my children, grand children and great grand children. We will bury our beloved matriarch next week.

We have more to be thankful for than we have to hate.

I'm sorry for your loss, Doc.

We are at a crossroads in our country but you are right that we should not let anything diminish the celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Merry Christmas to all and may God bless the USA.

I am truly saddened by your loss.
God bless you and he will.

I've done the same for my Mom.

I, too, have experienced such a loss this year and in much the same manner. I concur with the OP. Let's keep focused on what we are celebrating... and why. My heartfelt prayers are with you.

Blessings,
Hog

Yes, please also accept my sympathies in your loss. You were very brave to be standing by and keeping promises to the end and very wise to know that there is still a Reason to celebrate.

My prayers will be for you and your family through this difficult time, may God bless and keep.

When I saw your other post I thought of myself, as my wife and I have also been married 48 years. The Lord always works in mysterious ways, but if you look you will see his hands on your life many times. My condolences on your loss.

I lost my father 10-20-12. I was by his side the 8 months prior. I can not imagine the depth of your grief. My deepest sympathy for the loss you have suffered. Stand strong with your shield and sword. I know God will give you the power to soldier on.

Letting her die where and how she wanted was the best thing that could be done for her. I'm glad you had the strength to do it that way.

It's times like these that one must put aside the outside world, all the trials, tribulations, things that have us all concerned or angered and remember what's important. FAMILY AND FRIENDS!
This time of year should be spent with them or remembering them fondly, with the Spirit of Chritmas in your heart and a prayer on your lips, a smile and nod to your fellow man, and a hearty Happy Holidays to those you meet!
My sincerest condolences sir! Dale
