The F-22 Raptor fighter shows its stuff!
The F-22 Raptor makes its European debut & really sets the rest of the world back on its heels!
(including Russia).
Al Norman, Lockheed Martin's Chief F-22 test pilot, describes the flight demo of the Raptor at the Farnborough Air Show for the first time.
Amazing performance!
John

Most impressive, especially the slow and low pass at 80 kts; but...but...can it hover?

Great clip John. I was able to see the F22 up close at the Fairchild AFB open house/air show in Aug. of 08. Great show with a large number of aircraft. They put on about the same show as your clip. My son had just gotten a new camera and got some great photos of the F22 and a F15 flying together so you can see the difference between them and some fantastic shots of the Blue Angels who where also there. You can see the photos at

if your interested. Thanks for posting this. I enjoyed seeing it fly again.

As a lockheed guard I had a ringside seat throughout its development and was there when dave fergison flew it on its maiden flight and tom morganfield on its secound flight. Morganfield wore a apes head mask on it for some fun publicity shots. I spent a ton of hours guarding it.

I spent almost 14 years on the F-22 program at Boeing before I retired & can say I had my hands on each & every one! We built the Aft Fuselage and Wings in our factory here in Seattle & shipped the parts out to Lockheed for final Assy. In all that time we only had two occasions to see one fly locally. I managed to attend the Reno Air Races 3 years ago & two flew up from Nellis AFB near Las Vegas for a flight demo. AWESOME!

Thanks for posting John.
Very interesting what this plane can do.
This shows we CAN still engineer and Produce
something in this country when we put our
mind to it. Glad they are on our team.
