How much of this gun craziness is on plastic?
I called a gun store I go to regularly and talked to one of the guys. It was 0830 and it snowed pretty good so no one was in buying guns yet. I asked him about G19's kind of jokingly since no body has any. Next question was how many people are putting purchases on their credit cards. He told me way more than the usual percentage of buyers are charging the guns and ammo they're buying in the craziness. I'm thinking that maybe some guys are counting on tax return money to cover the dent in the card. It could be they'll be a lot of NIB guns on the market in a couple months when momma sees the credit card bill and baby needs a new pair of shoes. Or the tax man needs a new pair of shoes.

Just like the Treasury, they can borrow because they have no intention of ever repaying it. Some might even see the end of civilization coming. You can see the difference at gun shows. It comes as a shock to them when they try to had a private seller their credit card.

I have a couple of Sigs and a XD that I don't use . I should probably sell them now while every one's looking for something as long as it's hi cap.

I and two friends rented two tables at a gun show last weekend. There were plenty of people using plastic but also a lot using cash. It was wild, people spending money like it was free. A friend sold a used XD'S for $650 and didn't bat an eye. The three of us sold so much we didn't go back Sunday as we had little to sell. It seems if you can buy a new gun at MSRP you got a good deal. Don

Yeah, those evil black rifles will be flooding the market in a few months, at lower then low prices! I will be there to pick and choose one at will.

I hear way too many stories about folks buying something in the Fall and selling it now to 'cash out'.
I'd love to know how much of the panic buying is 'speculators' rather than committed 2A supporters.

Like they say... Impulse buying is usually a bad thing.
Doubly so if it winds up on plastic.

Am I the only one who uses credit cards as a matter of convenience? I routinely put a lot of purchases on my card; and net 1-3% cash back on those purchases. In my entire life, I have yet to pay a cent of interest.

Nope. I use them as a convenience and nothing else. A lot of folk had better be correct about getting big tax cheques or there is going to be a reckoning in the coming months. One member here admitted that this panic allowed him to get his money back on the AR he bought during the last panic. Many will not be able to hold out.

I always use my Credit Card. My Capitol Punishment Card earns me bullet bucks...for every dollar I spend, I get two rewards points good on any guns or ammo.

I see very few people using money. I have even saw people at the stop and rob getting a pop and a snack and using a credit card. Going by what I see most people are buying with plastic. Larry

The Friday before Christmas was the last time I made the mistake of entering a gun shop; it was insane the number of folks lined up to buy EBR’s and anything high capacity. Several times the automated credit card processing equipment froze up. No one quibbled over prices, only what have you got and when can I get it. From the crowd looked as if Goldman Sacks and IBM had sent there middle management team on a team building exercise.

We charge everything on plastic. And get free airplane tickets for vacation, $2K downpayment on new car, 10¢ per gallon gas discount. The credit card bill is paid off early every month. Only time I paid interest was when I didn't make payment in time -- then only $5.

Well put on your codpieces boys. As of Sunday the merchants will all be able to tack on up to 4% for credit card payments because of a class action settlement with the credit cards. Unless you live on one of the handfull of states that make this practice illegal, grab your ankles. And because they have been building this 4% into their pricing structure for years anyway, you are going to be whacked twice.
