Default I know this isn't a S&W but....

This H&R top break is my first top break. It belonged to a fellow cowboy action shooter who pasted a couple years ago. I bought it from his estate. I like it but have no plans on shooting it. On the other hand it has enticed me into getting another top break .32. See my other post about the one that I put on lay-a-way ( I am hoping to pick that one up this weekend).

Do any of you frequent flyers here have H&R top breaks in your collections?

Jay

I can't guide you to a specific site, but I have run across some forums concerning H&R revolvers. I remember reading recently about some guy who was a very avid H&R collector who had written a more or less standard reference book on H&Rs and very recently died.

I do know there are collectors of H&R revolvers (and also other non-S&W and non-Colt makers, such as IJ), but I am not one of them. With the prices of older Colts and S&Ws skyrocketing, the non-Colts/S&Ws are sure to follow.

I have one rather recent (ca. 1964) H&R Model 925 "Defender" top break revolver in .38 S&W, and it is a lot of fun to shoot. It shoots very well, and is about as accurate as any other revolver I own. At least in my part of the world, these guns are not often seen. I think that many H&Rs are much better quality guns than they have historically been given credit for, and I would not pass up one of them at anything near a reasonable price (assuming it is in good condition).

I lucked into an auction where a .38 H&R Hammerless was
the prize. Looks great, shoots great, so I put some Siles
grips on it. To my untrained eye, it seems as good as a S&W.
You won't be embarrassed with that .32 in any crowd.
JMHO, TACC1.

I only have the one. I have no idea what age it might be. I got it almost 20 years ago from a neighbor lady that died in her late 80's........

Road Rat,

Other than the grips, yours looks like a twin to mine above.
