2014 Mustang GTCS
I will let the pictures talk:
My wife's red convertible finally showed up. She liked my 2013 blue one enough that she wanted her own.
Nice car but I still like mine better.
I will say that the 5.0 is a lot of fun to run. I get around 20MPG in town and 24 on the highway. Not bad for 420 HP! It is a lot of fun to be able to flip around and really enjoy the drive now. When I switch to my Highlander I keep wondering about the transmission slipping because it seems so mushy when you hit the gas.
The two cars are the same California Special model. There are not many Blue versions out there from what my dealer said and GT Premium Convertibles are also rare for the GT/CS package.
If you want one, get one soon as they are changing the body style for the 2015's.

My '05, Legend Lime. You can't tell, but it has a Roush supercharger.
435 hp, but it doesn't get 20 mpg.

I suspect you don't have to deal with snow and ice, where you live (or have other vehicles for winter).
I consider myself a darn good driver, but have struggled to keep these high horsepower deals in a straight line in winter.
Ideally, they shouldn't be subjected to winter salt anyway. They make GREAT summer cruisers though.

Peter, I've never been a Ford guy, but that red convertible of your wife's could get me to rethink that decision. Both of those are sweet..

Sweet!!! Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. Cool that it's a 302. I'm old enough to remember well the Boss 302 Mustangs of the late 60s.
I've been a Ford investor for many years and I'm loving the current direction the company is going. GM has an attractive product line but defaulting on their bonds has arbitrarily ruled them off many shopping lists and if there is ever another vibrant economy I think Ford has to be a major player in the recovery.

There was a comment about ice and snow. In the 25 odd years I have lived in south Texas, I can remember it snowing 3 maybe 4 times. Having watched folks drive in it, I swore that i would take the day off if I ever even thought it might happen again.
I have ridden in the wifes, it is nice. Smooth ride and you really get to enjoy the engine rumble. It has a definite "note" to it when you accelerate. It is a lot of fun but I am really too tall for it unless the top is down.
10mmauto (great round by the way, one of my favorites). I looked hard at the shelby's, I even went to Vegas to see their plant but I don't want to get a stick. Stop and go traffic stinks with a stick, so I got an automatic. My thought right now is run mine for a few more years and then either take it to Hennessy (20 minutes away) or out to Shelby's shop and put a wide body kit on it along with some handling improvements and the supercharger. I can run mine up to about 500 Hp and keep the automatic. After that you have to go to a shift.
Everyone needs just a fun mid-life crisis toy. I have never owned a Ford before but I really like these two.

Very nice pair of Ponys! We'd love to have one, but they're not practical here in the mountains.

I like the blue better than the red, and I cannot imagine any scenario in which I would want a convertible. Given my lifestyle, they would never be practical for me, and given my heavy foot, I am better off with something less likely to help me get in trouble. Besides, around here, "plow" is a 4 letter word, so there is no point on having a vehicle that will not overcome the lack of snow removal.

2014 Mustang GTCS
Beautiful cars! Both of those cars are dead sexy.
I am about as diehard Ford as they come, for my grooms cake my wife had them do a Ford emblem. I've been really impressed with the new direction they are going. In Oct we got our 2013 Fusion Titanium in and this car is amazing. Adaptive cruise control that slows down and speeds up with traffic, if you drift out your lane the wheel shimmies, and if the road is crowned hard it compensates so you just hold the wheel straight and not have to pull to one side, oh and a 250hp 2.0 twin turbo and 33mpg highway. Now I really hope the next F150 is the Atlas concept, if so all I can say is Shut up and take my money Ford!!!!!!
I am almost to the point of being envious of my boss. Of his 16 cars he has a '68 GT500 convertible, I think it's an '06 GT, 08 GT500KR all white with blue stripes. My wife says I need a chin strap to hold my mouth shut when I look them.

I had a chance to drive a 2011 a couple years ago. It was a 5 liter, and was fairly zippy! I've drooled over a couple of the Shelbys.....what a car!

I love both of them; I've always thought that the CS package was a cool option. Here's my 2005 GT, not a new one by any stretch, but this thing is sure fun to drive. Doesn't see much action right now; been driving my '06 Ranger instead, but I'm just waiting for some better weather. Mine's all stock except the Hurst shifter and exhaust, but it definitely is LOUD.

My 2005 GT, the first year of the new retro style. Metallic Mineral Grey, the only year they painted them that color. It does get around 20 mpg in the city and almost 25 on the highway. They made over 6 million Mustangs of that style, that one is around # 98,000. It's best option is the PAID FOR one.
I do have a lawyer buddy that has a 2012 5.0 and man will it bark.

Sheepdawg, I agree. They are both paid for. Cash on the barrelhead and out the door. I thought about a loan on the second one and could not go back into debt. I like being debt free.

Yup, being in a business related to construction, I had a great 2004. It looked like a nice 50th birthday present to myself so I ordered it in December a week after I turned 50. When I picked it up in March the salesman wanted to know how I wanted to finance it and I told him with one payment. Being a new body style I had the fun of getting stopped every so often by people that just wanted to look at it. The salesman told me it was the 10th 2005 GT delivered at that dealership.
