I bottled some country wine today so give me a break. I've thought this through.

The mod's keep cutting me off while typing my new thread so I'll try to type real quick to beat them to the punch and post this.

This new ratio that I've calulated through calculus, (ok, I never took calculus nor spelling).

Ok, someone post a new thread, that thread should have some sort of rating to indicate its value. (not that matters)

So here is what I've devised over the years and have proven it works really good and all forums will adopt it as soon as this hits the WWW.

Formula goes as follows:

You post a new thread: Take the number over of "Views and divide it by number of Replies. Then add to that the OP's number of "Post and divide that by number of Likes. Then multiply that sum by the Join Date and divide by 2.

For example:

567 views of new thread / 54 replies = 10.5.

2500 post that OP has / 76 likes = 32.89

10.5 + 32.89 = 43.39

43.39 x 2006 = 87,040.34 / 2 = 43,520.17

So the index value factor of that new thread is 0.108 which is Xcelent. Do the math.

Genius - but I think that you need to square the replies and divide by the reciprocal of the join date to get traction.
