I'll bet the Predator drivers up at Creech are drowning in their own saliva if they have read about this beauty. The astronomers will be getting all unnecessary, too.
Canon have come up with a full-frame (35mm) CMOS sensor for video with a limited number of pixels but monster sensitivity and low noise. I am not even going to guess what equivalent ISO speed this thing can run at but the demo video is quite something.
Now I know that the modern image intensifiers can do even better, but for the less demanding roles the savings in power and weight of a camera with this performance would be huge.
