Default A gadget for the surveillance freaks

I'll bet the Predator drivers up at Creech are drowning in their own saliva if they have read about this beauty. The astronomers will be getting all unnecessary, too.

Canon have come up with a full-frame (35mm) CMOS sensor for video with a limited number of pixels but monster sensitivity and low noise. I am not even going to guess what equivalent ISO speed this thing can run at but the demo video is quite something.

Now I know that the modern image intensifiers can do even better, but for the less demanding roles the savings in power and weight of a camera with this performance would be huge.

Here is a link to some blurb and another link to the Canon video.

Dang, something new. Like I don't have enough cameras already. If this keeps up I am going to have to buy another camera safe.

I do like the advantage of those night shots. When I can stand the cold temps I do like to shoot stars and galaxies.
