I recently bought a used Mod. 60 which had these grips on it. They look like they are from the Fuzzy Farrant "school" of grip making, but don't look enough like what he's done for me to be able to tell.

There is palm swell on the left side with the checkering. The right panel is flat and smooth. Which makes me think it was more for a left handed shooter. OR a righty that didn't like clothes or jacket grabbing on the grip. There are no markings anywhere.

So I'll post some pics and see what you guys think.

The blind grip screw, checkering, and general outline look a lot like the Spegels I have on a couple of revolvers. But Spegel signs his.

Here's a pair of J frame Farrants - double swell & double checkered - purchased direct from Fuzzy about 30 years ago.



They're now in possession of Joe Kent, so I can't check the inletting.

Yours lacks any of the common Farrant idicia on the inside, but that doesn't mean anything either. I don't see anything really negative.

I would think they are made for a lefty....smooth side against the skin. If not, then they are made for people who can't make up their mind whether they want smooth or checkered grips.

Thanks everyone for the input. Even without the palms swell and checkering on the right they are still pretty comfortable to hold onto. However, it does slip when it's fired.

I've got a few offers already to buy them, but honestly I have no idea what a fair price would be. My son is a lefty, so maybe I'll hang onto them for him.
