Plain and simple, I got zinged the other day by a moderator for what he termed "cop bashing". I sat back and steamed for a few days wondering why what I said would be considered LEO bashing and came to the following conclusion. If you saw my post and it offended you, I apologize but it wasn't aimed at anyone on this board who is or was in the field of law enforcement. What it was aimed at is most of the locals around my parts who seem to all be afflicted with a "holier than thou" syndrome. Believe me, I once walked that side of the fence myself and have the utmost respect for the biggest percentage of LEOs. So, with that said, don't take that post as anything other than a short rant against 95% (not 100%) of the locals in my area - it meant nothing more than that.

It's all subjective shipmate....it depends on where you stand in the pecking order. Don't sweat the small stuff; if someone wants you banned, it will happen....no matter what.

Just don't bash firefighters! You know them, the guys who scored too high on the exam to be a cop. The guys with the job that cops really wish they had. The thin red line that protects people from calamities of man and nature while the cops are busy eating their donuts. The heros... oh, sorry, I got carried away there.

Firefighters. There used to be a small crew of them that hit the local Dunkin Donuts shop two or three times a week and bought a load of doughnuts. These guys were all young, trim and fit, so one morning I asked them what they did with the doughnuts. These guys went to the local schools and gave fire safety talks to students...and took the doughnuts to the teachers. Apparently schools have a high percentage of attractive, young teachers in them.

It sure sounded like a rough job, but somebody had to do it.

So, so true...I missed the Fire Department by ONE question on the civil service test. "Would you rather sleep with 10 strange men or 10 strange women..." I picked "women". Wrong answer apparently!

So this baby seal walks into a club...............
