All right people. It's probably been done before but how
about pictures of your favorite "rimfire" rifles.
The fun gun you take to the range or to hunt with.
The older i get the more i appreciate the reduced recoil
and minimal expense when shooting these little beauties.
I'll start, here's 4 i have handy as they we're out of the
safe being cleaned after a day of shooting.
Top to bottom CZ 452 in .17 rimfire--Winchester model 74
autoloader in like new condition. Browning BL 22 lever action,
and the ever trusty (everyone has to have one), Ruger 10/22.

Dads 61 winchester with a octogon barrel in .22 long rifle

Winchester 1890 converted from .22 WRF to .22 WMRF, also has been pistol gripped with a longer stock with a cheek piece.

Winchester 63 .22 long rifle that was made right at the end of production 1957. Somehow I bought it new in the box with the hanging tags about 20 years after it was made!

Here's mine. A multi-year project.

This started as a Winchester Mod. 52C target rifle in near new condition. I had the barrel cut back to 22 inches and a 11 degree bench rest crown applied. Then the custom stock was made.

More recently I bought the Liberty Essence suppressor. Liberty did the necessary threading to the front of the barrel without any disturbance to the crown. The suppressor is titanium and a scant 4 ounces. At 6" length it takes the barrel back out to its original 28" overall length.

The scope is a Leupold VX3 3.5-10 50mm EFR.

The rifle is deadly accurate and quieter than an air rifle with subsonic ammo.

As for the target, I purposely moved the point of impact away from the very center so I could maintain a consistent aiming picture. That's why the group is low left.

gjamison-You have some beauties there! I really like .22s!
Here are a couple I am fond of for various reasons.
The first is a Remington 34P with a Wollensac scope. The next is a Winchester 75 Sporter with a Noske mount and a Lyman Alaskan scope. Everything on the 75 I believe is about 1939-40.

Here is one of mine:

A 1964 Marlin Golden 39A with vintage Marlin Micro-Vue 4X scope.

Here is the same gun as it sits now with a Nikon Prostaff Rimfire 4X scope.

My meager collection of "boys rifles", single shot .22's.
Every barn in the land had one hanging from a nail to kill rats, squirells, pigeons, etc. when I was a kid.
Two Stevens Favorites top, a Stevens Marksman.
Then my jewels, all three versions of the Remington #4 rolling block, knob takedown, lever takedown and solid frame. A Belgian parlour gun at the bottom.

Forgot to put this one in my previous post... as I was only thinking .22,,,
But this is my oldest, and prettiest. Swiss Vetterli 1869/71 in .41 rimfire. You thought .22LR was hard to find?

Nice little Remington Nedlate, but I am a little biased! Here is my 1933 vintage model 34 NRA that my grandfather bought new the year my mother was born. He taught her how to shoot in their basement in Spokane and I learned with it when I was younger. It's wearing a Leupold 2-7x scope and I still have the original peep sight.

This is my latest purchase. A M1922MII Springfield military trainer in .22lr.

The target is 5 shots from 25 yards benched, but have had similar results at 50 yards. It is truly a tack driver.

This is precisely the sort of photo that I was hoping to see here. A fine photo of a fine rifle.

Anybody got CZ .22's?

The mini Model 70 action was one of the big things that drew me to the Kimber 22. Another was the trigger, it is simply the finest factory trigger I have ever felt on any .22lr sporting rifle, easily adjustable from 12oz to 4 lbs.

Not only does it look good but the darn thing can shoot, this is pic a a couple of 100 yard groups using cheap Federal ammo. Granted it was a perfect dead calm day but it shows what the rifle is capable of doing. If it ever misses the mark the blame lays squarely with the shooter. When I pony up the dough for Eley Tenex I can compete with and occasionally win .22 matches at my local club against heavy target rifles like Anschutz 54s, Wakther UITs, and Win 52s.

My favorite: Kimber Model 82G. This was purchased in 2009 at Camp Perry CMP store. The group in the target averaged out to ".1", with Wolf Match Target ammo. The second target is that of a dead fly. I had to "trap" it, but it's fun to know just how accurate these rifles are, out of the box.

Default Marlin 39a

My 1967 vintage Marlin 39a was unfired until I got it about 3 years ago. With the Skinner peep sight, it is very sweet to shoot.

A few of my favorites -

My Remington 40x:

First 4 in one hole the 5th a bit to the left at 50 yards:

A silly little thing:

Annie:

Remington M37:

5 at 50 yards (with factory Peep sights):

AR7 with box and papers with the very rare brown stock - as seen in Goldfinger.

Here are a few of my favorites in order of preference.

First, a Winchester 9422M.

Second, a Ruger M7722.

Next, the venerable Ruger 1022.

And finally, a Henry lever .22 with octagon barrel.

Chuck:

As luck would have it I just took some photos of the .22's floating around the house, and a couple of photos to boot....

Remington Md. 12

Winchester Md. 1906 (love that "original" sheet metal crew in the fore grip)

Detail of the takedown feature

Colt Lightning

If I could only get my hands on whoever swapped out the forearm

Winchester Md. 63 circa 1946

Yes it's a safe queen so sue me....

Beauty and the beasts...

I know it's not a rifle, but this may be the most fun of anything I have to shoot....

Again not a rifle but I figure you need to toss in a Smith, now and then.

Group pic as I had these out of the safe to make room for one more.
There's always room for one more rimfire.

Not in the pic is the Browning SA-22 for which I was making room and is rapidly becoming a favorite.

David, your Win. 63 picture made my heart stop beating for a minute there. Yours and Ferrill's are drop dead gorgeous.
Don't hesitate to call me when you run out of room in your
safe and have to get rid of that one. Haha
Keep em' coming people. Great pictures and beautiful rimfires
from the members.

Show us your rimfire rifles???

Did someone actually say "Show us your rimfire rifles?"

(I love rimfires, if you can't tell...)

My very first rifle was a simple old Winchester 67 given to me by my grandfather, wearing a stock hand-made by his grandfather (and accomplished woodworker, I also have a beautiful old cedar chest he made). It was the very first gun he ever shot, the first gun my Dad ever shot, the first gun I ever shot... and here is my own son (plesae ignore the big ol' ugly guy instructing him ) firing his very first shot out of that same rifle:

Sentimentality aside (somewhat), I still love my rimfires and have more than my share of them in my collection.

Rimfire lever-actions...

10/22s (stock and "dressed up")...

Rimfire ARs...

(My son's "zombie gun" in electric green. )

(My twin daughters' pink and purple plinkers. )

And other assorted fun rimfires...

There are quite a few more (to say nothing of my rimfire handguns ), mostly older guns, but those above are the ones I have handy pics of.

Did I mention that I LOVE rimfires?
