His sycophantic audience applauds even when he blinks...but this time, when he said he owned two guns and is not giving them up with all the home invasions ih his neighborhood, you could hear a pin drop...and I love the way that gorgeous redhead schooled Michael Moore with the facts....

Remember the late Carl Rowan? He once wrote a scathing editorial against guns and gun owners and wrote that he felt that if you "own a gun, you should be put in jail...." He then went out and shot a prowler with HIS pistol who was swimming in his pool. I think the NRA gave him their first place "Pool Shooter Award" in sarcastic retribution. Yes, Rowan got charged and had some legal woes because of it.

Always consider the source and not what they say...but what they do. That speaks far more volumes than anything they write or speak.

No one should be surprised that celebrities are hypocrites. They have disdain and no trust for the common citizen, and thus agree with the gun banners that we should not be allowed to keep guns. But they want the same sense of security that we do, and so they have bodyguards if they can, and personal weapons if they don't. Not any different than Mayor and Nanny In Chief Bloomberg who ridicules and derides gun owners while protected by a cadre of gun toting personal guards. They see us as dangerous peasants while they see themselves as enlightened and entitled aristocrats. That is why "may issue" will never work and we must insist on "shall issue" concealed carry laws.

I find Maher's show extremely difficult to watch, especially if Michal Moore is a guest and they are talking about guns. I did, however, manage to watch that clip without punching my computer monitor. S.E. Cupp, the antidote to chronic stupidity.

Bill Maher is living proof that a failed movie star can always fall back on a position of leadership in the Hollywood socialist movement. He was on an episode of Roseanne I watched a couple weeks ago. Normally I'd struggle through the Roseanne episode since the only other choices were basketball, golf, and "The history of Tupperware". But when I saw Maher I switched to Tupperware.

Im gonna get flamed for this but i watch his show, not all the time but often. I like it and find it funny. Even seen his standup routines. I really dont care who he like or what his personal views are, i find the show funny.....and sometimes i find myself arguing with the tv. But i never disliked the guy based solely on the term "leftist" or "liberal". Most comedians are liberal.

Regarding Bill Maher, I will admit he is talented and funny, but he is so partisan I can no longer stand to watch him. It is almost as if some celebs feel they need to be partisan to have a career (Jim Carey). The Dixie Chicks threw away their career on partisan remarks. Really, who cares what some Canadian thinks of US gun control? Maher, Moore, Carey, Dixie Chicks, and others are not considered legitimate political commentators. I feel if I go see a show I am paying part of their income. I refuse to pay for a "show" that turns into political commentary. If I want to see political commentary, I want to see both sides. That is one of the reasons I watch Fox News, they balance the right with lefties like Juan Williams, Bob Beckel, Alan Colmes, Susan Estrich, and others.

I tried that a few times watching rachel (madcow) maddow. I did more yelling at the TV screen than I did when I was in L.E. Same goes almost every time I hear Alan Combs speak.

letterman is another on my to "never watch list" and I was waiting for commercials to end on the station I was watching (Fox) and I happened on letterman-and they were doing some stupid thing about the most stupid person of the week (or something like that?) which of course--was ONLY aimed at Republicans. I switched the channel the second I saw the title of their skit.

Letterman is just a bitter old guy with bad teeth. He used to be marginally funny, but 20 years ago when NBC picked Jay Leno over him to succeed Johnny Carson, he became just nasty. For the first year or so, his ratings beat Leno, but after that Leno has regularly beat him.

Leno is liberal, but he's far less partisan than Letterman. He's been poking fun at Obama pretty regularly of late. The only thing that he's mad about is the way that NBC has been treating him of late. No doubt he'll cry all the way to the bank.

I find that conservatives/gun owners are much more tolerant of others' beliefs: "If you want to own a gun, fine; if you don't, fine. Just leave me alone to exercise my own freedom."

Liberals, on the other hand, are seldom tolerant of others' beliefs: "Do as I say, not as I do, and you must live according to what I think is correct."

You would think it would be the other way around, but in actual practice, it sure isn't.

This happens to me often in my area. Im tired of it when they ask for my opinion on something KNOWING all too well that im not going to tell them what they want to hear-then they get enraged and storm off. I start it off with--if your going to ask me something you know im not going to give you a favorable reply on--then DONT ask. In saying that, ive stopped any potential situations from developing ;-))

I've been around for awhile and learned quite a bit over the past six plus decades. A year in combat in Vietnam followed by 30 years as a cop have taught me that if you listen, watch or read only w/those that agree w/your line of thinking you only get half the picture. Every news outlet has an agenda and they present, or not, consistent with those views.

The greatest thing about our country is we can do or say pretty much anything we want, to include opinions about our elected "leaders." Many of us fought for these rights, some died. I believe some who present their ideas as fact are wack jobs who are fortunate enough to have that platform; it does not mean they're right.

Take the time to be well informed, get involved and honor those who fought and died for the right to participate in this messy thing we call democracy.

Definitely my sentiment and nearly my reaction for Moore and Maher. I simply cannot watch them.
Watching one's enemies is always a wise move, but with those two I simply assume they oppose everything I believe in and will likely try to destroy it, so I'll spare myself the pain.
