Default Texas CCW Law to Improve

Two TV stations said yesterday that TX Gov. Rick Perry is expected to sign new legislation shortening the CCW classes to just 4-5 hours in lieu of the present ten or so.

Basic safety training and range qualification will still be required.

I just completed renewing my license over the internet. Great improvement over the old method. Texas has apparently put on line renewals for practically everything they require licenses for.

The 10 hrs seemed like punishment, like defensive driving. I just accepted it as what you have to endure to be able to carry. I wonder if prices will go up or down with the reduction of class time. It will probably stay the same because I can't see instructors willing to charge less. They can even fit in another class or two with the left over hours.
