Default Lytle Novelty Co. Cast Alloy Guns

Do many of you recall the old cast aluminum gun models sold by Lytle Novelty Co. in California? They used to sell for $3.95 in ads in gun mags and the outdoor titles.

What are these worth now in good shape? Anyone seen any for sale?

I plan to pass mine on to my heirs, but am curious as to value. (Please don't ask to buy mine.)

Mine have had a reblue job in the form of touch-up black paint like that used on airplane models.

A Luger sold on eBay for $50. I would expect some to be of more value than others. A Tokarev sold for $43. A Nambu sold on Gunbroker for $65.

When I was a boy in about 1946 I had a cap pistol that I now know was a good replica of a colt pocket 1908.

I had a P-38 and a .380 Beretta. My brother had a broomhandle Mauser. I think the Mauser is around here somewhere.

I hope you find it. My dingbat brother left my Mauser at a neighbor's home and it "disappeared."

I had the Nambu. I paid $50.00 for it and I sold it for $50.00. They made several different models including the Luger and 1911. The one I bought hung in my barber's shop for years. I thought I might make a buck on it but was lucky to get my money back.

I don't have any idea what they're worth, but when I was a kid back in the 60's there was a cast metal, aluminum probably, Luger that was sort of community property among us boys. No idea who it actually belonged to, we sort of passed it around from time to time. It was a solid hunk of metal, very detailed externally, but nothing on it moved. About a half inch or so of the barrel was hollowed out, and it had been painted black at one time but most of the finish was long gone. Someone had gotten an old GI 1911 holster that I remember seemed to fit it about perfectly.

I've never seen another one, and have no idea whatever happened to that one. It was probably one of the ones you're asking about.
