What makes S-W forum so special to you?
Like many of us, I too cruise the firearm web sites for exciting products and guns for sale, as well as tips on gunsmithing, lounge speak and historical information. What are some of your favorite categories here on S-W forum, the most friendly web site, that make them special to you.

The specific categories are similar to other gun sites .....however, other than the expert info on S&W revolvers (which is my main interest here) what sets the Smith & Wesson Forum apart from all the others is the fact that it is well managed and moderated......threads are kept civil and not allowed to get out of hand, no politics for the most part (like it or not ... that is the cause of many of arguments on other sites). The comaraderie is exceptional....folks here are friendly and are friends to one another and "trolls" are quickly found out and ousted. There are many other reasons, but I'm tired of typing.

Well first of all you can ask questions here. I feel like in other forums members just take themselves as they know everything and look down on you whenever you ask something. Besides stupid comments you will not gain knowledge. Here you can ask and everybody adds a little bit to the answer so at the end you have gained a lot of new knowledge and people usually go even beyond the question and add more knowledge related to the topic.
All the members here are very trustworthy and it is more like a brotherhood even though its all just bits and bytes. The admin is not out of touch or a god but is active and takes input very serious.
My favorite sections is the lounge, MP15-22 and MP Pistols

Sheesh, this is one hard question to answer. I guess one thing that really makes this forum so good is that the experts and "gurus" are very approachable and very generous with their knowledge. I'm not made to feel excluded from discussions because I'm new to shooting and not one of the "big boys". The common goal of preserving S&W history, teaching good technique as well as safety is quite apparent.

Simply put, this is the finest collection of firearms experts I've ever run across. Guns are my hobby (and passion) and it's nice to hang with folks who feel the same way. Every member I've met in person has been genuine, and fine folks.
Oh, I hang out on the old gun sections and am a bit of a lounge lizard....

Civility. Strongly-held opinions are not often expressed in any way but politely. When they are, the rare offenders are pretty swiftly set straight by members and moderators. They don't seem to stick around long.
Tons of knowledge and experience--I learn something every day here.
A definite lack of the mall ninja/Wally World commando mentality in the ranks.
And certainly not least, there are some people here with really strange minds (you know who you are), so that I feel right at home. You guys laugh at some very weird stuff, but you laugh.

What I like
Not only is there a lot of really solid expertise but those that have it are willing to share it and go through great pains to make sure that data is 'out there'.
It's a serious forum that doesn't cater to 'mall ninjas' (new word in my vocabulary) We are gun/shooting enthusiasts, not make believe soldiers of fortune.
While serious it is not stuffy here. Some of us like to try and hone our skills of wit and humor and it's usually well presented and well taken. The people here have real lives. We have a lot in common with our fellow forumites. I haven't talked with very many people that I probably would refuse to go shooting with. I can't say that about reloading parties sometimes, though.
Arguments are either worthy and if they aren't they are short-lived.
There are a lot of LEOs and Vets here. That in itself makes the forum a better place.
I like it that people can tell others about other problems besides guns. Most of us have been around the block enough to appreciate and relate what others have to endure over the years.
I like it that I know when to shut up.

First it's the awesome people here with the knowledge who are willing to help with any questions about a smith & wesson firearm. Where all here for the s&w firearms.
Plus its the history of S&W too. From the bored thru cylinder which the purchased the patent rights to manufacture it from an ex-colt employee. The s&w repeating lever action volcanic handgun which Henry and Winchester reworked it into a lever action rifle. S&W actually developing the self contained cartridge as we know it today. I'm very proud to own such a firearm with so much history behind it. Bill

The low ratio of keyboard commandos to good honest people!
But mostly the Big Ape and his hard working crew who keep things clean and take out the trash.

Why do I like the S&W forum?.
Great people here who are willing to share their information. Great people who post great pics of S&W's that I probably will never see in person. And great people who like to joke and give as well as get.
What can I say about the S&W forum??, Great site. Frank

I've told people this forum is like being around my father and grandfather, the conversations always include a few different ingredients: humor, information, wisdom and some good-natured ragging. I haven't been around a forum that contains such a high concentration of quality members. With good people everywhere the good just kinda seeps into everything.

What I enjoy best is the 4 hour, 3 day work week. Even though I get 6 weeks paid vacation, my retirement income covers the shortage.
Members are amazing with their knowledge and experience. The Forum has an expert on every topic.

I'm here alot 'cause there's no where on the Interweb that one can learn so much about 'Ctg' guns that may or may not have pencil barrels, regardless of whether they detonate with +P ammo or not.

THis forum is my life, it's where I come to be with people. I am so alone...
I have learned so much about Smith & Wesson firearms from the membership, everyone is treated respectfully, there is humor and those that share some of there life story are supported.
I feel like I am hanging out with the cool kids.

The next best thing about this forum is the humor. I've never laughed so much until I found this place!
It's therapeutic for me. It really is. With so much going on in my life and after a hard days work, I can come here and expect to laugh each and every time.
A heartfelt thanks to Lee and the Moderators and to those of you who make me laugh and a special thanks to those that put up with my occasional outbursts.
I don't have much in the way of extra money these days. But the above reasons is why I contribute what I can. I urge others to please do the same if you value this forum.

I like the "skinny" barrel, "pencil" barrel threads.

I especially appreciate the personality, attitude and disposition of the membership and the mind-set and leadership of the webmaster and the moderators. The knowledge, experience, and humor are special and we have a very diverse assortment of different forums for discussing different topics.I believe that anyone that has been on the internet long enough to get around to some of the many websites that are out there can appreciate the quality we have here.

Ok, friendship, comroderie, a shared passion and knowing that I'm obviously not the only one that rode the short bus.
