My FIL went on a Honor Flight a couple weeks back. Rochester is the only HF east of the Mississippi to spend the night when they go. There have been 28 flights to date carrying some 1300 WWII heros from here. Korean Vets are now being accepted to go.
Flight 28 had 43 WWII vets (the youngest was 88 years old) and 2 Korean vets. There was not a dry eye in the house. It was a truly moving experience.

The Honor Flights are great. I have sponsored 2 vets and 3 escorts including my daughter and grandaughter. If you have an opportunity, it can be a great experience for a younger family member to learn to appreciate what these men and women gave for us.
