I'm not a sci-fi type guy but my wife rented this and occasionally I have to sit with her and pretend I'm enjoying myself. Let me rephrase that. I mean I'll watch a movie I normally wouldn't just to spend time together with her (whew!) But this was pretty good. That young kid from 3rd Rock From The Son plays a great younger Bruce Willis. He sounded and moved like him, and went through the whole movie with a perfect Bruce Willis smirk with pursed lips like he does. And there's this little kid in it who is phenomenal. He can be very cute or extremely evil.
All in all, a pretty good time travel movie. My rating...three trigger fingers up.

I didn't care for it. Time travel movies are tricky.... they have to make rules for their time travel "science" and stick to it while making it believable. Loopers didn't hold up in my opinion. The story also didn't make me care who came out on top.

I liked Loopers. It was well done. It was a a hell of a lot more innovative, suspenseful, entertaining and thought-provoking than that sad-and-sorry, been-there-done-that-decades-ago Star Trek Into the Darkness nonsense movie my wife dragged me to last week. Even she admitted that it was only an exercise in nostalgia and didn't amount to much.

Loopers was/is worth seeing.

Loopers is a mental vacation movie, because if you try to think about it too much, it starts to become tedious.

I watched it free on cable and it was worth what I paid. I am sad for Bruce Willis appearing in this movie.

I kinda wanted to like this movie but couldn't. Ended up leaving the theater before it was over. Went and saw a movie, The Iceman, yesterday. Thought it was terrific!

I liked it, but it will mess with your head.

Somewhere in Time, Time Bandits, Back to the Future, etc. I think I've seen about all the time movies I care to. I like Bruce Willis but I'munna pass on this'n.

I thought it had One of the better and more disturbing scenes I've ever watched in a time travel movie.
The part where they recall the running looper by carving instructions in his arm, then taking him apart piece by piece to make him comply.

I like time travel movies, but hate them when they are done badly. Loopers wasn't perfect, but it was far better than most.

The two best time travel movies ever made are in my opinion:

(1) 12 Monkeys (Bruce Willis again!)

(2) Primer

Some days I think one is better, some days the other. You are forgiven if you have never heard of Primer. It is not an action flick, and is in fact very talky and cerebral. But it is internally consistent from start to finish and has an interesting set-up. Some 20-something post-grad technology types are trying to do some research and development in a garage so they can create a project that will make them rich. What they are trying to do doesn't work, but something else happens instead. Slowly it dawns on them they have accidentally created a time machine. Then the temptations, consequences and complexities begin to unfold...

Seriously, give it a look. Very low budget film, but quite good.
