Smile Gun Show Adventure

Hi:
Two neighbors and myself attend a local gun show today.
One neighbor was interested in purchasing a AR-15 .223 type Rifle and the second neighbor was intersted in a Glock Model 27 .40 Pistol.
I went along just to take up space and waste oxygen, also doddle in the isles tying up other "Lookers".
As I expected the vendors was just giving their wares a "Outing" due to their sale prices.
Lots of factory boxes of ammo with sky high prices. What I found intertaining was all this ammo still had Wal-mart stickers on the boxes.
Admission was eight dollars per person but parking was free.
I went prepared for a headache as I still had the bottle of aspiran from the last visit to a gun store.

Georgia Arms doesn't come to TN? Most of the guns I looked at at the last Asheville show were more than GB.com prices and folks were turning down offers (at least on Saturday).

Looks like we should all stay home for six months until this craziness calms down.

I went to one in Mobile yesterday. It wasn't crowded at all. Prices on everything are still too high. I saw very few sales. Judging by what I've seen at the last few shows it looks like the crowds are getting back to normal. I've seen several things I wouldn't mind having but I refuse to pay the high prices. Maybe a few more shows of the vendors not selling anything will bring prices down some.

Next show here is in August--it will be interesting to see what prices they try to sell ammo for?

Most of the vendors at our local shows don't seem to mind toting the same guns and other items from show to show. I guess they figure there's an *** for every seat, but it sure won't be mine. I've all but quit going to gun shows.

Some of the stuff I regularly see at gunshows dates back seven or eight YEARS. One guy has had the same so-so Garands for $1000+, another has an alleged Arisaka sniper and then there is the fella with the Portugese Vergueiro that is a regular.

.

Jimmy,

I too, enjoy the show circuit....Don't need any guns, ammunition or jerky.

It's jest a social gathering for the most part.

I went to a flea market today. Asking prices of 22s is just a shade higher than March. The Walmart 550s are all marked at $67. With a bunch of 225s marked in the $40 range. I looked but I'm just amused. Its nice having a small stock to fall back on. When/if it gets to the $100 I've seen quoted, I'll be selling some more. Our next gun show is in 2 and 3 weeks. It'll be fun.

I haven't been to a gun show in at least two years. And it looks like I haven't missed anything.

Thumbs down

Went over the weekend. Forget the ammo prices, and S&W prices. $1100. for most worn out Smiths. They are ALL collector items now. Did pick up some bullets just to try, but price was really too high. I saw somew 22 stuff that was old beyond belief. Most I have never seen, and I have seen a lot. Wonder where they get this stuff??

I'm not a real social person, and both my gun safes are overflowing, so I've about quit going to gun shows.
